I'm a single mother of 5 children. We live in my mom’s house that has passed in 2012 from a sickness. My house is up for property tax foreclosed. I did not know it was up for foreclosure until today when I went and made a payment. I thought I was ok with just making payments on the property taxes and I would be able to keep my home even as my mom was sick.
So I’m asking for help so I don’t lose my home. I don’t have anywhere else to go with my family. Please help me or point me in the right direction?

Property tax help is rare, even more so in Virginia. Some states offer abatements to seniors, so maybe look into that. If your dad passed then you may want to start looking into long term planning, and you should really be doing that as a caretaker. Anyway, find some HUD counseling agencies to try in Virginia. Sick so now behind on real estate and home taxes
I need information on getting help with property taxes. I am my mom's care taker. She has fallen so many times that she cannot be left alone. She can't go into a nursing home! She has been here in her home for 20 something years. My step dad passed away and she can't pay all of these bills. She has congestive heart failure. C.O.P.D- thyroid (hyper) -ASHMA- bronchitis- severe arthritis & the list goes on. Please let me know who I can contact that can help us with the bills. It is so hard on her health worrying about these things. We live in Fairfax, Virginia.
