Re: Security deposit help needed in New Orleans

Post by Isla Summer »

My name is Erick, and I am in need of help. I live in New Orleans, LA. I am recently homeless after being incarcerated for 9 months. Due to my incarceration, I lost my home and everything in it and now I need money to get documents and a security deposit.
All proof of who I am was put into a storage unit by my former landlord. He only paid for 2 months of storage. After 7 months with no payments, the unit was auctioned off. So all my clothing and paperwork are gone.
My ID and wallet were lost, according to JPCC and the arresting officer, during the transition of being booked in. I was transferred to OPP after 8 months in JPCC and then released without my wallet or ID. I have never had a Louisiana ID, and I don’t have any way to prove who I am when applying for security deposit help except for my release papers.
If there is any assistance that can be offered in my situation I would appreciate it.

Normally security deposit help is not for people on section 8, but you will need to contact the organizations in New Orleans LA to try. There are several options you can look into and that we have listed, and look here for security deposit help in New Orleans. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... tance.html

Security deposit help needed in New Orleans

Post by Orangatang »

Good morning, I’m here requesting financial assistance for security deposit. I’m currently living in New Orleans Louisiana. I’m moving to a new apartment. I’m in touch with a realtor helping me find a home, I do have a Section 8 voucher but I’m desperately seeking help with deposit. The realtor has referred me to you’ll for help. I’m a single mother and I’m leaving a domestic violence relationship. If you can point me in the direction that can assist me in New Orleans I would greatly appreciate that.
