My name is Megan. I was on HEAP for quite a few years ago and lost my AMHA housing back in 2012 due to poor living conditions and the landlord not keeping up with the home repairs, my children & I got sick. When my electric utilities were turned off, I was paying on a balance of $2000 for my electric bill and around $500 for my gas bill and my utilities have been off since. I and my 2 children I share custody with are currently homeless and staying with different family members but I now have a decent paying job and can afford to pay regular rent on my own. I am in need of ANY assistance getting my electric utilities reconnected before I can even look for housing. Any info I can get regarding rehousing, utility or security deposit assistance would be greatly appreciated. I don't need any cash as I can repay a loan but I do need help.

Since you have no money and other bills due, it may be challenging. As most utility companies require cash deposits to be made. But look into the programs we have listed - maybe some can help. We have experienced some devastating blows to our finances. We are without power and we are in the middle of the eviction process and being homeless. We have been unsuccessful in finding a place to stay but have started moving all of our belongings into storage.
We would greatly appreciate any assistance we can get with having the power service restored or reconnecting the electricity until we are able to get everything moved and can finish the final touches of cleaning that need to be done.
We have stayed in the home the last 2 nights with a little bit of warm from our fireplace but I'm not sure how many more nights with the temps being so low that we can endure.
I have submitted the assistance request through NES and needlink but I have not heard back from anyone yet.

Old utility bill help is rare. Most companies in Nebraska, including payment plans, are for current bills to help keep the power and heat on. Maybe try LIHEAP grants? We have a list of Nebraska utility bill assistance programs.

She was recently diagnosed with lung cancer and she has rheumatoid arthritis and is on disability. I am her son who has kidney failure and have been on dialysis for 12+ years and am also on disability. Hello, I have been in desperate financial distress and need help to reconnect my electricity. I am completely disabled and live in a very small town in watercolor CA. And unfortunately out utility district here (PUD) is probably owned and our county has no funding available to help me. I've tried to get help from health and human services dept. Here, I've already used my LIHEAP for this year on wood, I’ve tried all our churches here even the St. Paul de Vincent Catholic Church and they wouldn’t even call me back even after numerous attempts of contact for reconnect help. I even left a hand written note on their doorstep for emergency help with getting my electric turned back on the total amount needed for that is estimated at $1200 including the $300 dollar reconnect fee. Hi, I came across this site and I need help desperately. I rent a house and the owner has a gambling problem. He is using the rent money to support his habit. Our health and well-being are greatly being compromised. I have a lady with a teen boy and a man with cancer, colitis, crones, and the man with a broken neck living here. One time help with electric shut off notice. I paid in sequence 3 bills for vacant charges that electric company incorrectly did. I also have a disabled letter from doctor to waive deposit, but I did not know it. When I found out in February, I had to pay for 3 months electric bill attached to rent which went from 756 to over 1200. I have paid last one with a balance of 89 left on rent for the water portion. Just need help this one
I am on disability and I had to start to work 3 days a week to make ends meet. Get 839 per month because of offset with SSDI. I have a son who is my caregiver and has a slight mental disorder. I have applied for SSI/SSDI for him, but I have to get him back in a program. Unable to until I can get my car as I cannot walk to bus.

Many utility companies offer special grants and assistance programs for the disabled, low income, and those with medical hardship. So here is the information on electric bill help in Washington. Some programs are offered at state level, but most of them are offered by an individual energy company in the state. Most of the Washing PUDs offer Project Help, which provides discounts on monthly bills. Another fairly common option is Warm Heart for the low income in Washington state.

Electric bills, rent, housing, debts, and other assistance is offered in Preston County and the greater northern region of West Virginia. Some agencies cover multiple counties in the region, but you can still call them regardless. Some examples of agencies and programs include the North Central West Virginia Community Action Association, which is local community action agency (304) 363-2170. They can help people faced with electric disconnections, and offer grants such as LIHEAP.

She just had surgery the end of May and was unable to work much of May and will not be able to return to work until sometime in July, she has no way of getting her electric turned on. Is PECO just in Pennsylvania? If so, find an extensive listing of ways to get your heating and utility service reconnected. Can be emergency grants offered from community action agencies and/or energy companies themselves. Find information on Pennsylvania utility companies. Call them to ask them to turn your power back on. See what type of services and programs they offer. They may also know of other energy programs in the Philadelphia region.
