Have you applied for disability or unemployment? At least that will give you some form of income. In the meantime, find Cincinnatti rent assistance programs and agencies. They have eviction prevention funds, and often personal hygiene items like sounds like you need to. Why were you denied medicaid? Seems like you should qualify for some type of medical care.

My youngest son is deaf and can not go to every school. He must go to the school by the apartment I just moved into 4 months ago. I lost my job on 6-15-11 and was denied Unemployment. I need soap. I need to wash clothes. I finally got good stamps, I have no income! and can not work because my back/arm/shoulder/wrist/elbow hurts so bad, i almost feel like I'll pass out. I've been to chiropractor and a Crainal Therapist. I went to emergency room couple nights ago but was let go soon after I got there. I was referred to an orthopedic and neurologist. Since I was denied medicaid, I have no way of seeing these doctors to help me get well. ::::I need help with my rent for one month. August has got to bring me some work/income. just found out about your site and all of the assistance that can be
available.  I'm a single mom, lost my job and have been given an eviction
notice.  I am to vacate premises by midnight tonight.  I do not know what to
tell landlord...I've been a great tenant..she's not easy to get along with
and I have no way to move my things or anywhere to go at this time and was
only given 3 days by her.  Can you please provide me with any and all info
for me to contact any agency that could help me?  I am in desperate need!
Thanks!

That is great Sarah that you are a student and going back to school to improve your chances of getting a job, higher chances of income, and continuing to learn. Try looking into eviction prevention programs for that notice. Many are run by your local community action agency, the Salvation Army, Catholic Charities, or other non-profit groups in your area. Federal government funds are used to support them. Read about them from the link above, and purse financial assistance from this rent/eviction assistance programs and non-profits.

The eviction noticed stated that we had up until june 12 to pay our remaining balance of 3400.00. The problem is we dont have 3400 to kick out. We need help or assistance. How do we go about doing this? Thank you for your time

Many programs do focus on the elderly, so hopefully your grandfather will have more options then most people. Why don't you work, and send some of that money to your grandfather? Until then, call these Pittsburgh Pennsylvania assistance programs and ask about your options and resource they may have for you. There are places like the Urban League of Pittsburgh (phone number(412) 681-1110) as well as the North Hills Community Outreach (NHCO). This is the local Pittsburgh community action agency that has a number of low income assistance programs.

That is South Carolina, right? So what happened with section 8 housing voucher? If that didnt work out for you not sure what will. It was created specifically for low income and to help people stay in their homes or apartments. Anyway, here are some other non-profit housing agencies to call in SC that may offer section 8. For example the phone number for the section 8 housing program in Sumter is (803) 775-4357, and they offer various low income housing options and resources.

The $3250 is a lot of money needed. Probably too much. Even a month to month lease would not give you much security is staying in an apartment. So for general rent help try this link. It references dozens of rental assistance programs from both the federal government as well as local charities and non-profits. Also links on the left can provide information on Wayne County Michigan assistance programs.

Looks like you are in Greenwood South Carolina. They work with local non-profits, charities, and also government programs and directly with the utility companies and government programs that provide rent help and eviction prevention. Maybe they can help with transportation too.
Greater Greenwood United Ministry (864) 942-0500

Calling all those agencies, like the Salvation Army in Horry County and Myrtle Beach was the right thing to do. You just need to keep calling and trying to find agencies that can help in your situation. I can provide you more info and phone numbers that can help with housing, hopefully with daughter, and help you get back on track. And hopefully prevent the eviction.
http://www.needhelppayingbills.com/html ... rogra.html

Try places like the North Strand Helping Hand (NSHH) (843) 399-0862.
Another place to call is the Churches Assisting People (CAP) 843.488.2277.
They may have credit repair programs and eviction prevention.

I have exhausted all resources I can find to assist with rental payments. I am a single mom of a 10 year old who is facing eviction in the very near future. The book keeper of the rental company has been "hiding" the fact that I am so far behind, hoping that I will find an Angel or a miracle. In two weeks I will be 4 mos behind. A little over a year ago my only form of transportation was stolen from in front of the condo i was renting at the time in the middle of the night. unfortunately, I only had liability insurance on it because it was a little older (2002) and was paid for. I had to rely on various people to bring me to work and back. Between babysitters that would not show up and friends that were running consistantly late I was not able to get to work on time. This led to my dismissal. Another issue was that I had just returned to that employer so the amount I was able to draw for unemployment was only $75 per week. With no car, and no money, with not so good credit ( I was with my daughter's father for 6 years who was an alcoholic...his credit was horrible so he chose to tank mine as well) makes things hard to pay bills. My father who lives in another state was helping me out untill September when he just stated in an e-mail that he could not help any longer and for me not to contact him again! I do not have any family here nor any family that could or would help out. There is no public transportation near where I live and the closest business or mini-market is 2.5 miles one way from where i live. I have had some well meaning people tell me to move, but how do i move with no car, owing money here to good people who have been extremely patient, and having a daughter who for the first time feels secure and safe where we live. My daughter has mild intelluct disorder along with anxiety issues. She is in a special inclusive ed class along with various therapies and medication management. She is just begining to show progress in school, how can I take her away from that? Not to mention I can not afford to move anywhere. I have talked to local housing authority here, Salvation Army, United Way, Helping Hand Charity that said they could only help with $200, A few churches etc...Can you offer any other suggestions?

Those places you called in Charlotte NC are awesome steps that you did. Sometimes non-profits and charities just do not have calls. You need to keep calling and asking. I can't give you money, but can provide you info on more places to call. Many are at this link below.
Places like the Charlotte Area Fund (704) 372-3010
The Charlotte and Mecklenburg Salvation Army (704-324-4731) may be another option.
Some may not have funding, but they may have other phone numbers and places that they can redirect you to for rent and housing help.

Facing Eviction

Post by dani »

I live in a house in Orange County California. I was unable to pay my December rent and now have been served an eviction summons. I have been trying since November to get help from my local agencies...in November I never got a call back from referrals given and in December contacted more and they were out of funds. The call backs I did receive says they cannot help me. For one my rent is $2995. I do not know what to do. I fear being homeless. Does anyone help when the rent is that high? I am unemployed and on state disability.

Sorry to hear that about pregnancy. Terrible, especially around the holiday. Here is info on organizations and assistance programs in Tulsa. http://needhelppayingbills.com/html/tul ... rogra.html
Try places and charities like Restore Hope Ministries 918-582-5766
Another option may be the Community Action Project of Tulsa County, phone # (918) 382-3200
These are some different rent and housing programs in the area.
