Employment and other help needed in District of Columbia

Hello,
I am currently out of work due to having hip surgery and am still on doctor's restrictions that keep me from returning to work. I have work restrictions that only allow me to work from home and can not currently find any jobs hiring strictly for work from home in Washington DC. I am also currently in a battle for worker's compensation benefits and have to date, not received any benefits.
I am inquiring about rent assistance, or some type of job, as I am falling behind with my rent. I wanted to receive some information about what I need to do to apply for assistance with rent and possibly my electric bill. Please let me know what I need to do and what paperwork needs to be completed to qualify for assistance. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
