Re: Looking for a free government wheelchair van

Post by Holly1M »

I am trying to find a motorized scoter or wheelchair van for my husband who had to have his foot amputated and he has been having a lot of medical problems. Its been really hard for him to get around he can hardly walk five steps with the aide of walker cane or crutches.
I am the only financial provider for the family right now and my paychecks are being garnished so I am unable purchase a wheelchair or disability can for him right now. He just stays home in bed except to go to bathroom which is only 5 steps from our bed and is very difficult for him to accomplish.
I know if he had a motorized scoter or wheelchair van he would be able to get around more and it would lift his spirits and get him out of his depression that he has from being unable to get around or leave the house. I would appreciate any help you could give him. He went from working 50-60 hours a week and chasing after our grandchildren to being in bed all the time due to his mobility problems.

Looking for a free government wheelchair van

Post by TiLauna »

I need a wheelchair van ASAP. Mine broke, the mechanic doesn't know what's exactly wrong, just that there is a short. I have 3 more major surgeries to go thru. I will need a van that is wheelchair friendly by the middle of next month. Does the government provide vans from MEdicaid or something else for wheelchair bound people?
The doctor's want me to go to University of North Florida Hospital in Gainesville. I am laid up in bed recovering from a procedure, but I can make some very beautiful masks. I am disabled and live on a very mall income. If someone has a wheelchair van that needs a GOOD home please let me know. Thank you Denise.
