Getting an eviction notice after being in the same place for 10 years has got to be hard, especially when you're working and trying to get your youngest into school so you can get back to nursing school. Since you're in Austin, see the page on the site at https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... tance.html for options and also try Texas RioGrande Legal Aid at 512-374-2700 or https://www.trla.org/ because they help with eviction cases and sometimes can buy people some time or make sure everything was done right.
Going in your favor when applying and getting help is you're working, so you probably don't need long-term help, just enough to get caught back up after everything that happened last year. And make sure you tell places apply you are working. I'd also let the apartment manager know you're trying to get help before the court date, sometimes they'll work with you if they know money may be coming.

My children are 14, 10, & 2.
Yes, I have been struggling a bit with being able to pay my rent.
This I am not proud of. Last year was not a good year for my family with losses after losses, funerals left and right, stress and costs, and pulled me way under that I’ve been spending every penny to catch up on all my bills.
My rent just fell the lowest.
And here I am…
I’m just trying to survive and be the best I can for my children.
Now that I have my youngest ready and registered for school now I can go back to following my dreams and register for nursing school. So we can have a better life.
Today I received a Travis County Austin court order of eviction. I really don’t know
What to do.
I really don’t want to move my family, this been our home for over 10years,
I’m devastated.
Is there any way you can help?

Hi James
Being $1900 behind is a lot of money. Why did you not ask for assistance with housing and bills before it because due, after your social security was "taken". Regardless we doubt any Travis County organizations will help with that much rent due, but you can try here for Austin resources. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... tance.html
