Families that are struggling in the San Bernardino area can get help during the Christmas holidays from churches, charities, and non-profits. There may be free toys or food passed out. Other items can include gifts for children or home delivered meals to seniors in the region. Some of the centers may also offer free turkeys, with all the toppings, or meals during the Thanksgiving holiday as well.
The enrollment period for these programs will usually begin in the fall, and assistance is offered on a first come and served basis. Anyone from San Bernardino that meets qualifications and that needs help during the holidays needs to be sure to sign up. There will often be proof of income and other criteria in place.
Children from the county take priority when it comes to the Christmas holiday. They may receive clothing, toys, games, books, or maybe even school supplies. While the resources are in fact limited, every year there are thousands of children from low income families that receive some type of support.
