There are many charities, non-profits and government organizations that help struggling families in Franklin County pay the bills. Organizations that offer food, financial help and more

The Blue Grass Community Action offers residents of Frankfort and Franklin County several emergency programs that can improve the quality of life of their family and individuals. They can help with basic needs by giving out free food, offer utility assistance, and give out clothing. The non-profit will help people become self sufficient over the long term.

  • The Kentucky Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) applications are taken. This will help the low-income, seniors and disabled pay their utility bills.
  • Rent payment help is available. The organization will provide funds and grants that can be used for rent assistance. This housing assistance program will be used to provide short term aid to income eligible persons who are facing an eviction who may be at risk of becoming homeless.

Franklin County KY Salvation Army is a Christian, faith based charity. Limited funds will help people pay the bills and they also give out free stuff to the low-income, seniors, and single moms. There are free school supplies or Christmas toys from Angel Tree. Or get a voucher to pay for a hotel or gas. Family Services are run from 275 E Main St, Frankfort, KY 40601. This offices processes applications to government benefit programs including Medicaid, SNAP food stamps or free government money from KTAP. There is an Emergency Food Pantry in Franklin County KY. People in need can get a free box of groceries or hot meal. Mission Frankfort Clinic is a free charitable clinic. They give free medical exams and dental. Get extractions, teeth cleanings, root canals and more.
