Essex County low income and transitional housing.

Transitional housing in Essex County can provide residents with a place to stay while they address the cause of their hardship. There is often a waiting list in place, and some locations focus on women, children, or veterans, but there are several different non-profits to try, no matter the individual's background.

The specifics of each program will vary, and some may only provide shelter for a night or two while other transitional housing housing centers will allow guests to stay for several weeks. Almost all of the agencies will also help clients find long term, stable housing as well as provide short term support.

Individuals or families that are able to enroll into the housing programs will often need to save a portion of their income, and also pay some costs towards rent. They will usually be provided with case management, free food, and job placement too, and those are all keys to stopping the cycle of homelessness in Essex County.
