Hi,
There are resources noted above for electric bill help. But other programs exist too. Including for a crisis, and look here to stop electric shut off.

Hi,
It seems like you need help to turn the electric back on? You did not even say the state or company though. So for general utility reconnection assistance programs you can find resources from this link. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... money.html

Hi Manuel and others,
Since multiple states and areas are covered in this post (NM, MI, etc.) try this for electric bill help. Since you are on Medicaid, your income must be low enough. But use this link for information on programs to help pay electric and select your state from it. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... bills.html

Hello,
I'm not sure where to start with my request. I have been in contact with Pinellas County, FL regarding helping with some past due rent payments, but my electricity is due on the 11th of this month and I'm already on a payment plan. I'm unemployed college student behind on my electric bill. Have been several times this year. I have never received the unemployment funds from the claim I set up on March 24, 2023. There's no way to get thru the phone line, leave a message or get a call back for college student electric bill programs. I've recently provided a lot of documentation to Pinellas County for rent help and they should be getting back to me any day now. I just don't know what to do about the electricity and my car payment and car insurance. I don't know if they help with that or not and I only have 3 days before my electricity will be shut off, since I'm already on a payment plan with Duke Energy in Clearwater.
I'm hoping someone there can help me with this, as a college student. I need to get my unemployment money, but I'm starting to think they're never going to pay me so I can't pay my electric bill. The claim shows open, active and there is nothing showing pending for me to complete. I'm just stuck in the middle and have no income at all right now. I can provide whatever documentation you might need.
I can be reached here on email but texting or calling my number below is faster and easier so I don't miss the message. I live in Pinellas County, Clearwater, FL. Please let me know what other information I need me to provide.
I really appreciate your help in advance.

Good afternoon,
My name is Jennifer. I live in Delray, Florida. I have been trying to reach out to someone, anyone, that may possibly be able to help me and my family of 7 in any way possible with money for our electric and other bills.
I lost my job last January and my husband was doing well with his Handyman business, so we decided I would become a stay at home mom. A few months later, in July, he had a horrible and tragic accident while working. The accident has left him blind in one eye and completely unable to continue working or doing much to help out. I've been trying to do as much little jobs as I can possibly find that won't take me away from being able to care for him or our 5 children, 2 of which are not in school yet.
With the exception of us currently facing our electric being shut off, any moment now, and an eviction for us to move, I've been able to keep us somewhat afloat but not nearly close to being where we are okay. We are not okay at all and we need money for the minimum payment on our electric bills.
I was trying to find an agency that may be able to at least help us out with the electric bill minimum payments. From all the searching I've been doing there's not much assistance available due to covid. I was hoping to check with your agency but I'm not sure how to go about applying or asking for help. I have called several phone numbers that I've found on assistance websites but nobody has answered or returned any of my messages that I've left.
Could you please help me with this or possibly guide me in the right direction to get help?
I'm extremely embarrassed to have to ask for help at all but because it's effecting my children I have no choice but to swallow all of my pride, humble up, and ask for me.

Hello! I am in need of some help to pay my electric bill as my ex did not pay child support  I am a single female, 2 kids, I live in a one bedroom apartment alone, I have recently lost my job due to selling of the property.  It has been a little over a month without a job and I have used up my reserve money and I currently do not have a dime to a name due to the ex not paying child support.  I've never asked for help and don't know how this works but if I can get some financial assistance on my electric bill, I will pay it back.  The good news is I have a final interview next week so hopefully that will secure a job for me. Please help!

If you are recovering from knee surgery, have you applied for FMLA or disability? As maybe those can get you short term financial relief. There are also emergency LIHEAP grants in Virginia as well as other resources, like charities. Find .emergency financial help in Richmond VA.

If you only owe $170, that is not a huge amount. Maybe try the Louisiana LIHEAP program.
There is an emergency component, offered by the state DHS, that can provide LIHEAP grants within hours. But since you only have until tomorrow, it may be too late.

If you have a trailer, there may be government help to (1) both help winterize/upgrade the home as well as (2) pay the utility bills. Also if the ex-husband is not paying child support, then sue him. As far as other resources, look here for electric bill help.

Good for you for keeping to pay, etc. But sounds like you are in that cycle...you can never get fully caught up with your electric bills in NM as always a month or two behind. Maybe a one time grant or payment relief would help, and find the options here at New Mexico utility bill assistance programs.

I am a 25 year old college student. I currently have an electric bill that is way more than I can pay. I was on the LSP program and I am almost completely blind so I did not see the renewal come in I did not know you had to renew each year and now that I have gotten kicked off the LSP program for not filing my renewal. They say that the bill is too hard to read and roll right now I'm really getting it terrified because I have no idea how I'm going to pay this or go about it.
I you could please help me. Please call me as they are now wanting a monthly payment of over $200. If I can get some of this paid off then at least the monthly payments would go down and I would be able to handle it. It's just right now there is no way I could pay you over 200 each month. It is actually making me scared sick. If you know of a way to help please contact me thank you for your time I'm putting the stuff on Facebook.

For financial assistance, try LIHEAP in virginia. Maybe you can get a grant. Also inquire into various payment plans with your utility company. They are all listed here, on the site at Virginia utility bill assistance programs.

My electric was disconnected about a week ago. Its in my landlords name and he said that he'd send the bills every month. In almost a year I've seen two bills, one for the month of January and the other for March. He was pretty good at calling to inform me of a disconnect notice, so that I could go make a payment that I could afford just to avoid shut off. Well this time he did no such thing and I'd even spoken with him twice the week before it was shut off.
The electric guy left a bill of what was owed. It stated that with connection fee $1,800. I couldn't believe it since in June my bill stated $500.00, a little more and after paying rent I always tried making a payment in if it as only $20.00. I have a 7 year old daughter in my home and it hurts that she's seeing me struggle. Her dad lost his job In May then got it back and lost it again.
I am working at a convenient store only getting 22 hours a week at $8 an hour. It comes to just enough to make rent. Her dad has been trying to find work but its very hard do to his whole right hip bone has died and now needs a full hip replacement so we are very much in need of help. I have gone to my local county office and was denied also to a state funded electric assistance program that's local and is called lakes and pines and they have no funding. So if there is anyway you could help me I'd be so thankful.
