My name is Gabrial, I have 2 handsome little boys ages 11 and 13 as we need a place that will give us free food. We live in York South Carolina and my boys attend York Intermediate School. I know it may be to late to ask for help but I was really hoping that I would be able to get food this week without any help. So I waited until I asked for help because I try not to use county resources or ask unless I REALLY NEED it. UNFORTUNATELY, I do need some food this week year and I am trying to find any last minute help from anyone I can. Can someone please help me find some some free food or groceries and my beautiful boys have to wake up to to eat? They deserve so much because they are great kids.

Hi Tina and Brandi (and others)
There are many places to get free food from, including pantries, food banks, churches and other locations. We have information on those places on our site, and look here for free food in your community.

Hello, my name is Valentina or Tina for short. My daughter, Brandi, is 26 with bipolar disorder, PTSD and sever acute depression. She is being abused, need food, even water or other nutrition. She is in a bad place. She has also been with an abusive much much older man who has stolen from her, refused to let her work, leaves her alone in an RV with no heat, food or anything to drink or money to get what she needs. He leaves her abandoned on the side of the road to be harassed by passersby and police.
He left her on an overpass in her RV after running it out of gas. So she had to walk to a gas station to get food and gas. She had to walk back with gas cans in her wagon and came back to no RV. It had been impounded. He is constantly telling her that he's going to get it back but is narcissistic and abusive, therefore, just lies. Everything she owned, her medicines, glasses, everything is in there and we need help getting it out of impound.
Can you please tell me what we can do to get her free food and help? I'm disabled and receive a very small monthly SSDI check and I'm in the middle of a move, so I need free groceries too and help as well, but Brandi needs it more. I can't afford to get it out. I have a place now, so she can park it at my new house until we get it registered and street legal and complete much needed repairs. But if I can't get it over here she will just be stuck with him and I'm afraid his deplorable behavior is going to get my daughter hurt or he'll end up making her disappear, if you know what I mean. Please help us with food and other aid. He's a meth addicted Needle junkie and is taking her down a very dark path. Thank you for your time.

I receive disability, have only income from SSI and need food, preferably free. I just had surgery to hopefully provide myself with a better quality of life and to minimize many of my co-morbidities. However, due to having this surgery I am only able to each soft foods and protein shakes with unsweetened almond milk, as well as, sugar free foods. Do you know of any food pantries in my area that may be able to accommodate my diet? I need free food that also meets my medical condition.
Thank you in advance for your response.

Never hesitate to reach out for assistance. There is nothing wrong with that, especially when hard working like you indicate and looking for more short term relief. Try this for a list of food assistance programs.

Do you mean DeKalb county in Indiana? If so, there are resources for you. You can find free food, financial aid for rent or utilities, and other assistance programs. There are also clinics for mental health, job programs and more. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... rogr2.html

The food banks in your part of Alabama may be able to help. They often have not just groceries, but school items or snacks for your children, referrals, and more. Also, listen to your friend and try the Salvation Army, as many of them also operate free food pantries in Alabama. Those are some directions for you.

to hurting me back my family and I have fallen on hard times and in need of a little help with our bills, food and school supplies.
I am a month behind on all my bills and school is starting and I do not have the funds to buy my children's school supplies or clothes. I was referred to the Salvation army for pantry by a friend of mine. If you could please get back to me about help or steer me in the right direction on where to get help I would appreciate it.

I'm self employed as a hair stylist. I also do pet sitting & dog walks. I've been looking for an additional job that would be more stable (part time admin, etc) for a couple years now without luck. My income fluctuates and I usually am able to get by either by being very creative and how and when I pay bills or by selling whatever I have that's worth anything (out of print books, furniture, etc.) when possible. I am also relying heavily on food banks and SNAP.
Being that work unpredictable for me, there are weeks when I make $50 and there are weeks when I made over $1000 and I often don't know from one day to the next how much work I will have. May has been so slow that I was barely able to catch up with most of my previous months bills, and I ran out of food too. I have an outstanding water and electric bill for about $450, my cupboards have no groceries in them, my rent is due tomorrow ($860) and I have about $180 in the bank. I've already told my landlord that the rent will be late this month which means I will pay an additional $50. This is my current situation.

Try a pantry, or look into some of the discount food box program. What they do is provide you items you need, at a cheaper price, that may normally be 30-50% off regular retail prices. Many people use these services to free up their income, which is what you are trying to do. So get more details, and read more cheap groceries.

My wife is 70 years old, I'm 54 and disabled. I had 2 operations in May. Due to cost of my medications needed to thin my blood, we had to borrow money from the title for car loan company. It was a trap and after 4 months, I owe more than I borrowed after 4 payments. What we need help with is enough food to last for month to a month and a half. If we can receive some help with food, we could pay the loan off and hopefully stand on our feet. Is it anyone that could help with food for a couple of months? A local church gave us a little food, but it was a small amount. We can be reached at this email.

Try going to your local food pantries. They will have not only groceries, but probably also clothing, maybe appliances like a refrigerator, and also importantly just general guidance and support for you. The government also has a number of food assistance programs too, like WIC, SNAP food stamps, and school lunch programs. You can find information on those options here. http://needhelppayingbills.com/html/foo ... grams.html The good news is that free food tends to be easier to get then say cash for paying bills.

441 is not enough per month to live on. Look into food banks and pantries in Florida to supplement the food stamps. Millions of people receive help from food banks every year. A listing of the main places to call or stop by in Florida can be found here, at Florida food banks. Never be ashamed as indicated millions of people turn to these centers.

Well, hopefully you will find a job soon. The job market is definitely picking up, but so many people still need work. Make sure you use a family plan for your cell phone.
As far as the food, look into programs such as Angel Food. It provides anyone, no matter income, food at about 50% off. Also look into food banks and pantries in your town. Call your local church and/or Salvation Army. Also be sure to call other non-profits, like a community action agency. Many places do give out food in today's day and age, which is a good thing. But you do need to keep calling around for help.
