Tazewell County food pantries.

Low to moderate income families can turn to a free food pantry in Tazewell County for help. The non-profits will try to provide the applicant with a box of groceries, offer them a meal, or, at the least, referrals. The hours of operation of each charity or church that provide food is limited, so it is recommended to call in advance.

What is available is sometimes limited to just fresh or canned food, but some Tazewell County distribution centers offer much more. When available, it is likely to get other more basic needs, such as clothes or school supplies. While always a possibility, but not as common, some of the food pantries also provide financial help in a crisis, such as vouchers for medications or an energy bill.

Whether it is information on Meals on Wheels for the home bound, a box of food, help in applying for USDA commodities, or Christmas or Thanksgiving food, the centers below may be able to help. This will depend on the generosity of the community though.
