Somerset County Homelessness Trust Fund Rental Assistance Program - This is a fairly new housing program. As funding allows, the program will provide qualified individuals with up to 12 months of emergency rental assistance, counseling and case management. The intent of the program is to assist low income, senior, and other needy clients.
Among other things, it will help them become aware of and access resources and assistance programs to help increase their chances of maintaining permanent housing within Somerset County. For example, the emergency housing and rental assistance program will provide a monthly subsidy to pay the difference between their total household rent and 30 percent of the client’s income. Applicants to the program who meet the criteria may be eligible for ongoing rent help.
