Santa Clarita assistance programs.

Help with home repairs.

Santa Clarita California is providing both low and moderate income homeowners the ability to improve and repair their properties and homes through the Residential and Property Rehabilitation Grant Program.

These grant programs were created to address exterior code violations, and to also keep homes both habitable and safe. These grants are available for mobile homes, single family homes, and condos inside the Santa Clarita city limits.

Free cash grants of up to $5,000 are available for needed repairs for the home itself, and up to $1,000 in needed repairs are available for detached garages and front yards.

There are a wide variety of repairs and improvements that can be done, including roofing repairs or replacement, electrical and plumbing work, tree trimming for safety, heating and air conditioning repair, windows and flooring repairs, modifications for disabled and elderly, exterior painting, and the removal of illegally installed garage or hardscape conversions. Santa Clarita Valley Food Pantry is the leading non-profit to turn to for groceries, meals, and emergency food boxes. They provide free food on a short-term supplemental basis to the needy. The organization will help people of all races, backgrounds, and religions. (661) 255-9078

Child & Family Center can help female victims . A number of resources are offered, including housing and eviction prevention. The goal is to get women (and their children if applicable) into a safe place. The city can also arrange short-term housing for female victims, enroll people in job programs, legal support, and provide for children as well. Brenda Mehling Cancer Fund can help individuals who are receiving treatment for cancer. The fund can help people with some or all of the following basic needs and bills, including temporary housing, home health care, rent, health insurance, clothing, and groceries. The Fund also may be able to pay for co-payments required by many health insurance plans for the patients medical care.

 

 

 

Receive discounts on utility bills from The Gas Company. Qualified low income customers can receive a 20% discount on their monthly gas bills. Other aid includes free energy saving home improvements and one financial assistance for paying bills. Other programs are offered for the elderly and disabled in Santa Clarita.

Another option is HEAP. The state of California and federal government program provides financial assistance and cash grants to low-income households in Santa Clarita and southern California.
