Community HousingWorks’ Foreclosure Intervention Center - This non-profit, which is part of the federal government funded NeighborWorks America, offers borrowers a full range of housing and mortgage counseling services. The number one goal is to assist families and individuals and to help them avoid foreclosure and also sustain their homeownership. The non-profit has on staff numerous highly skilled counselors that are both ready and willing to work with homeowners across San Diego. The staff will assist them in finding options to resolve their housing situation.
You need to call the organization to make an appointment for a counseling session. You will be scheduled for up to a 2 hour meeting with one of this non-profits highly skilled Foreclosure Intervention Counselors. They will need to review your entire financial situation, current mortgage loan documents, and the counselor will begin the process of evaluating your particular financial situation. If after this review they determine your home may be able to be saved, the counselor will negotiate, for free, with your bank, mortgage servicer or lender. They will discuss loan modifications, principal reductions, short sales, and a host of other mortgage and foreclosure prevention programs.
