Olmsted County free food pantries.

Several free food shelves and pantries operate in Olmsted County Minnesota. Many of the charities are affiliated with the Channel One Regional Food Bank, which is a non-profit that works to prevent hunger in the region. The hours of each local site will vary as well as who can get help. These pantries may have everything from fresh fruits to baby formula, canned goods, free boxes of groceries, free Thanksgiving or Christmas meals, and non-perishable personal hygiene items.

The individual food banks in the Rochester area tend to be independent facilities with their own rules and regulations. Each one of the locations will haven application process in place. The food assistance programs will be focused on low income families as well as the disabled and elderly in the county. However anyone can call them for referrals or information on aid such as SNAP food stamps. Or they will direct the family to workshops such as how to save money on food costs. Or staff will also try to link the applicant to some form of program for their needs.
