Assistance is available at both Christmas as well as Thanksgiving in Richmond and Columbia County as well as Augusta GA. Some low-income families may be given free household stuff or furniture, such as a free mattress for their bed.
The charities will only help people in the town or city near them. Households can't apply to a location that is not in their county. If there are no additional Christmas toys left to pass out to the low-income, or if the agency has a long waiting list in place, volunteers will refer the applicant to another local holiday assistance program, including charities or churches that pass out free holiday gift card. The goal is to help as many Richmond County area families as possible.
