Navarro County rental and housing assistance.

Rental assistance programs in Navarro County are funded by the state TDHCA agency, United Way, or local donors. The goal of these various housing programs is to both stop evictions as well as rehouse the homeless. Find how and where to get help with rent, security deposits, moving expenses and other housing costs from charities, churches, or government agencies.  A combination of cash grants, loans, and shelter is used to provide transitional housing or rent help in Corsicana and the county.

Assistance will tend to be given to low income families with either (1) an eviction notice or (2) a utility disconnection notice. As the funds from the agencies help paying both past due rent or energy bills, as both can lead to homelessness. The other main option in Navarro County is HUD section 8 vouchers to pay rent, though there will be a waiting list in place.

Struggling families, as well as the homeless, can also enroll into case management. This will give them information and referrals for related services, including grants for senior citizens, immigrants, and single moms in the region. All of these rent and housing programs can help reduce homelessness in the county.
