Senior assistance programs

A resource known as Senior Resource Program ((765) 342-3007) offers financial assistance to low income and struggling seniors for rent, prescription medications and/or medical treatment, and with food to Morgan County residents 60 and older. In addition, the non-profit agency also offers free federal government and state of Indiana tax filing program for seniors. The non-profit agency is located in Martinsville. Dial (765) 342-3007.

Financial assistance for bills, rent, medications, and more

Green Township Trustee, Morgan County ((765) 342-3927) as well as Baker Township Trustee ((765) 342-4722) can assist qualified township residents with providing them with free food, medical and health care, clothing, household goods, shelter and housing assistance, school clothing, utilities and heating bills, limited transportation aid, heating fuel oil, coal, and burial expense.

Foreclosure prevention and counseling

Morgan County Indiana homeowners can contact Momentive Consumer Credit Counseling Service have questions or concerns about their mortgage documents. There are also programs that help with foreclosure issues such as how to stop, prevent, stall or avoid a home foreclosure. The help line is sponsored by both Fannie Mae as well as HUD. Energy and heating bill help, housing, and weatherization

The Morgan County and Martinsville community action agency is known as the South Central Community Action Program, Inc. They try to help people become self-sufficient, and also offer assistance programs for longer term aid and support.

 

Winter Program - This is an assistance program that will not only assists with providing a one time utility payment but also helps to ensure households are safe from disconnection of their heating service during the time period of December 1st through March 15th in accordance with Indiana State government law.

Summer-Fill - This is an assistance program that helps families and households purchase bulk fuel and heating oil during the summer when prices are at their lowest levels of the year. Also ,learn about home heating oil buying networks. More.

The last option is the Summer Cool Program. This is an option that starts the first week of June through September 30 or until funding for the program is exhausted. It is a program that helps households that are an elderly, low income, or disabled person, or if the household has a child under 5 with a one time $50 credit on their electric bill during the summer months or any one who is income eligible can receive free fans. Last, but not least, this summer cooling program can also assist with providing people an air conditioner if the person has a life threatening condition and a doctor states that it warrants the need for an air conditioner.

Weatherization Assistance Program - This is an energy efficiency program that assists low to moderate income households reduce their energy consumption and home utility and heating bills.
