Residents of Montgomery County Maryland can receive free food. There are a number of places that run these programs, including local churches, a food pantry or bank, as well as soup kitchens. Listed below are locations and phone numbers of a variety of centers and non-profit agencies in the community to obtain meals, groceries, and emergency food from.
Many of the centers do have restrictions or limited hours. For example, individuals may receive free food once a month or so. Some of the Montgomery County centers may also provide such items as diapers (Pampers) and baby formula, which may occasionally be available. Other pantries may serve holiday meals or offer personal hygiene supplies. When a low income family has been approved for groceries, both perishable and non-perishable food will sometimes be offered.
