Help for an emergency a hardship

Burton Memorial United Methodist Church is a Key West United Way supported agency. They are one of the local charity organizations to turn to if you need help, or are facing a short term hardship. They provide free food, among other aid. Over the course of the last several years, Burton's Food Pantry has provided free food, household items and groceries to thousands of Upper Keys residents in their times of need and economic hardship. Maybe the leading agency to contact in the Keys is the Salvation Army. They offer several emergency programs that can provide financial assistance, information, and counseling to people in their time of need.

Emergency Food Assistance - Get access to a pantry, groceries, and other items that provide nutrition.

Clothing Assistance - Gently used or rarely new clothing may be available, especially for work needs

Medical Bill and Needs Assistance - Vouchers may be available for prescription medications, and they also have partnerships with clinics that offer low cost health care.

Rent and Mortgage Assistance - From time to time funding may be available to help people pay for their rent or mortgage payments. This is especially true if the individual is facing an eviction or foreclosure.
 

 

 

Air Conditioning or Utility Bill Assistance - Financial assistance may also be available to help pay for an energy bill, or prevent a disconnection.

Furniture/Household Goods - May be offered to struggling individuals

 

Holiday and Christmas Assistance - Holiday meals, gifts, and other items may be available

Health care and child services
