Very low income families may be able to receive a voucher for free items, such as clothes, school supplies, toys, or household products. The other option is a thrift store, and those are available for anyone to use to buy gently used items.

There are several sites in Madison County. Almost all of them combine the distribution of free clothes with raising money from the sale of goods at the thrift store for the community. The centers mostly uses donations from the public, so if anyone wants to drop off items that can be done. The inventory may include some or all of the following. But each Madison County non-profit will vary in what is passed out.

  • Winter clothes – boots, winter hats or jackets, gloves, and free jackets for kids.
  • Household supplies for cleaning.
  • Low cost furniture, appliances, kitchen utensils, pots, pans, and more.
