Food pantries are available for residents of Lexington County and towns such as Irmo. The locations, most of which operate as non-profits, try to feed the less fortunate. Whether the person is disabled, a senior citizen, or a single parent with children, free food banks as well as soup kitchens can be turned to in an emergency.

There is also a phone number at the bottom of the page for more centers.  The locations, including charities or churches, will try their best to not turn anyone away. Some of what may be provided includes free groceries, non-perishable food items, Meals on Wheels for the homebound  or baby formula.
