Laurens County South Carolina rental and housing assistance programs.

Tenants as well as the homeless in Laurens County South Carolina have 10 different agencies to try for housing assistance. Some of them offer grants to pay rental costs and others provide additional support services, such as free legal aid, security deposit help, or relocation services. Find the leading churches and charities to contact for rental as well as other assistance, including section 8 housing vouchers or low-income housing with no waiting list.

In almost all cases the administering agencies, including Saint Vincent or Helping Hands, will not only provide emergency money to pay back rent, but they offer a comprehensive menu of services. This may include, but is not limited too, the following. Get help from free legal aid/eviction defense; shelter, LIHEAP for paying energy bills to stop homelessness; rapid rehousing; loans; and moving cost help. Much more may be arranged too.

When applying for rent help, priority will be for tenants with an eviction notice and that have a one off crisis. A second screening may be for senior citizens or the disabled in Laurens County, and families with children are also high on the list. Unfortunately not everyone seeking funds for paying their rent or other housing costs (utilities, deposits, etc.) can be assisted due to funding.
