Free clothing closets, furniture banks and school supplies Knox County.

Find free clothes, school supplies, diapers, furniture, appliances, uniforms and more in Knox County. There is stuff available from several charity as well as church run free furniture or clothing bank organizations, many of which are in the city of Knoxville. There are restrictions in place, and all items passed out will only help qualified individuals. The free furniture banks as well as clothing closets will also only assist an income qualified family a certain number of times per year.

Families with a limited income can get help, based on availability. Not only may an article of clothes be passed out, but the centers can also provide information on various social services or other charities that offer free stuff including food, shelter, household supplies, and other aid. A seasonal assistance program will give out free back to school supplies or uniforms, and some kids in Knox County may apply for free birthday stuff too. There are resources for single moms or dads, seniors and others. So not only are clothes given, but also grants, gift cards, and other goods. Or locate free birthday stuff.

The hours of each clothing closet as well as furniture bank in the Knoxville area are limited too. They are generally open a couple days per week as there is difficulty in arranging volunteers to work at them. However there may also be some special programs run throughout the year. As an example, working poor families with students may receive free school supplies. Or there is Christmas and holiday presents as well as toys passed out along with clothing during the fall and winter months.
