Indiana free prescription drugs and medicines.

The Hoosier Rx program

This is a drug assistance program for seniors. It will provide up to $1200 for seniors to help them pay for medications. The HoosierRx prescription drug assistance program will assist both low-income and mid income seniors who live in Indiana with paying the difference between their out-of-pocket drug costs and the Medicare coverage they currently have. For those families and individuals who have partial Medicare extra help, the HoosierRx plan can help pay the monthly Part D premium, to a maximum of up to $70 per month. For those Indiana residents who have no Medicare extra help, HoosierRx will pay the monthly health care premium of one of the nine health insurance plans that working with HoosierRx: Coventry AdvantraRx, AARP/United Healthcare, MemberHealth, CIGNA Healthcare, First Health, Humana, Prescription Pathway, SilverScript and WellCare. 1-866-267-4679

 

 

 

 

Indiana Drug Card

The Indiana Drug Card is providing prescription assistance to all Indiana residents. This program will provide free prescription drug cards to all Indiana residents that will help them save substantially on their medicines. This card will provide residents substantial pharmacy discounts on prescription drugs. Their are no restrictions to membership or receiving a card. For example, no age limitations, no income requirements, and also there are no applications to fill out.

People can obtain a discount card by visiting any CVS pharmacy location throughout Indiana. You just need to simply ask the pharmacy to process your prescription through the Indiana Drug Card program. If you can’t get to a CVS pharmacy, you can also obtain an Indiana drug card at various clinics, health centers, local businesses. The reason this card was created was to aid both the uninsured and underinsured residents of Indiana and allow them to afford their prescription medications. It is open to all people though. The card can also be used by individuals and families who have health insurance coverage but do not have prescription benefits as part of their coverage, which is common in many high deductible health plans and health savings accounts (HSA). In addition, people who already have prescription drug coverage can use this card for non-formulary or non-covered drugs, and therefore all people can benefit from it. 888-446-3979

Hoosier Healthwise of Indiana

This is a statewide health insurance program that is currently available for pregnant women, Indiana children, unemployed, and low income families. Health care and/or free or reduced priced medications are provided for free or at little or no cost to Indiana families and individuals who enrolled in the health program. The enrolled member or state resident chooses a doctor, pharmacist, or physician to get regular checkups and health care for illnesses.
