Assistance programs Grays Harbor County.

Housing costs, including rent or utility bills, can be paid in Grays Harbor County. There are also free food pantries at churches, financial help for medical needs or back rent from charities, clinics for free dental or health care, and more. The assistance is available from non-profits, the government, and other groups. Grants and loans for paying bills are combined with case management.

Emergency financial assistance

Grays Harbor Family Center, which is part of Catholic Community Services, offers several assistance programs and is a great place to stop by for referrals to local charities and government programs. Some of the services they offer include a program called Feed the Hungry, Shelter, and they may have from time to time limited financial assistance to help pay bills. They are located in Aberdeen and can be reached at (360) 533-9470.

The Salvation Army, Grays Harbor Corps ((360) 533-1062) runs a Family Services program. This program may be able to provide low income and other qualified individuals with funds to pay rent, heating or utility bills, medications, and other assistance. They can also redirect individuals and families to places to go to for further help, such as free school supplies, meals, and help during the holidays.

Counseling and social services are also arranged from the Salvation Army office in Moses Lake. Staff will meet with everyone from the unemployed to homeless or seniors to support them. Assistance from Grant County and Coastal Community Action Program

The local non-profit community action agency, known as Coastal Community Action Program, and which can be reached at (360) 533-5100 provides residents with information on grants, ways to get help with bills and and other expenses, and emergency funding. The assistance programs and resources offered include:

 

 

 

Rental Assistance - The agency provides short term rental assistance and cash grants to qualifying households with federal government FEMA funds. The program can assist a renter with paying one month rent expense.

Two other rent program include the THOR (Transitional Housing Operating Rent) and also the TBRA(Tenant Based Rent Assistance) programs. These are both transitional housing programs that assist homeless families achieve self-sufficiency and get reestablished. Find additional rent assistance programs.

Minor Home Repair and Rehab Program - This is a federal government grant program, The Home Repair and Rehab Program, which will help homeowners repair and increase the insulation and energy conserving level of an eligible owner-occupied primary residence, such as a house or an apartment.

Help paying heating and cooling bills - The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program is funded by the federal government and the state of Washington and it provides cash grants and financial assistance to help low to moderate income-eligible households pay home heating bills. Funds are also available during the summer to pay summer cooling and air conditioning bills. The LIHEAP program will also help low income applicants them avoid shutoff of utilities services, and it will also assist them with maintaining a warm and safe environment for themselves and their children in their home.

Weatherization - The program helps people save energy and reduce their utility bills. It will make energy bill affordable. The weatherization assistance program specifically focuses on assisting low to moderate income people in Grays Harbor County and Aberdeen Washington. The program gives priority to  families with young children, the elderly and individuals with disabilities.

United Way Emergency Fund - The Coastal Community Action Agency also partners with the United Way on this program. It provides financial assistance, cash funds and money, all of which may be available for paying for dental bills, prescription drugs, water bills and some miscellaneous services and expenses.

 

 

 

 

Food - CCAP is the leading local agency. They offer EFAP (Emergency Food Assistance Program through WA State Commerce), which can help Grays Harbor County families living in a crisis. Other hunger prevention resources include the TEFAP (Emergency Food Assistance Program through the U.S. Department of Agriculture), and the CSFP (Commodities Supplemental Food Program through the U.S. Department of Agriculture) programs.

There are over 10 other food pantries and even clothing closets to try though. The non-profits may nt only offer a box of groceries, but they help during certain seasons.
