Colorado Douglas County St. Vincent de Paul assistance programs.

The St. Vincent de Paul charity organization in Douglas County Colorado may be able to offer some basic needs and direct assistance, however the organization really focuses on offering referrals and partnerships with other organizations in the region. Details on their various services and assistance programs are indicated below.

The Castle Rock Food Bank has a number of goods for those who are struggling and need help in feeding their families. The charity pantry will distribute free items including fresh produce, chicken/meat, canned fruits, vegetables, spaghetti sauce & pasta, cereal, milk, and eggs. Non-food stuffs may be offered too including diapers, toiletries and more. So these are examples, and the exact type and amount of goods at the St. Vincent pantry really will rely on what is donated from people across the county. Special Thanksgiving and Christmas seasonal items may be available too.

The agency works closely with the Douglas County TASK Force, which is located at 1638 Park Street in Castle Rock. Some examples of the programs administered include the following. Emergency rent and utility bill assistance. They also operate a van in the community that can provide free basic medical and health care services to the homeless, very low income, and uninsured. Another place to turn to in the community for help is Health and Human Services. Their office is on 440 Castleton Court, dial 303-688-4825. This location really offers public and government aid. Staff from St. Vincent can help you explore these resources too. Among them include food stamp and LIHEAP applications, information on Medicaid, and also applications for rental assistance from Section 8 and other resources.

Douglas County Youth Initiative (DCYi) is a coordinated effort to unite the community in common causes. St. Vincent de Paul will support and organize non-profit agencies, the youth, parents, governments, schools, nonprofits and other adults.The goal is to provide residents with a number of services and assistance programs. Churches and volunteers will also support parents with resources, education, job training and unconditional care. All of this is done in an effort to support families across Douglas County Colorado.

SECOR, which is located at 9650 Jordan Road in Parker, CO 80134. The phone number is 720-842-5621. A number of nutritional services and food assistance is available for the poor and low income, including seniors and children. It is recommended to call first, before your visit, to ensure that you reside in the area that they support. The pantry is only open on Wednesday through Fridays.

Harvest Food Outreach is another option. The pantry is at 599 Topeka Way, Castle Rock, CO. Call St. Vincent for more details. Note that this center is only open on the 3rd Saturday of the month.

In addition to the various services listed above, St. Vincent has other aid for the low income and poor. This includes free or low cost gently used and affordable clothes which are sold at regional thrift stores. The stores really depend on donations from the greater Douglas County Colorado community. The money raised from all items that are sold will go to funding other charity type resources, including St. Vincent, in the community.
