Craighead County emergency food banks and pantries.

Residents of Craighead County have several food pantries that can try for help. The centers are run by both non-profits as well as charities, such as local churches. The distribution centers will do their best to pay out USDA approved boxes or groceries or serve meals across the county including the cities of Jonesboro and Lake City.

Specific programs are also targeted at different clients. Examples of these services in Craighead County can be low cost congregate or free home-delivered meals for senior citizens. Some of the food banks may have items for new mothers and infants, such as free baby formula or diapers. Also, seasonal assistance in the region may include Christmas meals, gifts, or holiday food baskets.

While not as common, some of the pantries may also have financial aid or vouchers to use for acquiring food. This is not as common though, and more likely referrals will be given.
