Community Progress Council York County assistance programs.

Community Progress Council is the main community action agency for York Pennsylvania. It is involved in providing short term, emergency assistance as well as it will promote self-sufficiency and employment for the low income families in the region. Community Progress Council receives funding through the Human Services Development Fund (HSDF) and also the Homeless Assistance Program. The Case Management techniques employed by Community Progress Council have been described as engaging as well as consumer centered. Social service staff will guide clients withing applying for Medicaid, TANF and SNAP Food Stamps as well as Children's Health Insurance Program. The Department of Public Welfare as well as the Community Progress Council offer the Work Ready Program in York County. It works in collaboration with agencies and local non-profits to offer a full range of employment and job training services to those clients who have limited employability.
