Free clothes, back to school supplies and furniture in Columbia and Richland County.

Richland County families can turn to free clothing closets as well as furniture banks for free stuff as well as material assistance. Based on inventory there will be supplies ranging from general use clothes to school supplies, free furniture for a home, uniforms for work, baby items, diapers and more. The volunteer run clothing closets help the low income, underemployment, and working poor in the Columbia area. All of the free stuff which will be donated.

The main agencies to call and apply at are below. The list includes both free furniture as well as clothing banks. Clients include:

-Single moms or dads seeking free or affordable clothes for their kids.
-Students who need school supplies, shoes, or backpacks.
-Senior citizens in Columbia who live on a fixed income.
-The disabled and others…any low income family can get free stuff for them or their family..

If clothes are not available then vouchers or referrals may be given. In general, there will be some form of giveaway from a local charity in Richland County that can provide free items, clothing, birth toys or school supplies, and other goods to needy families. There may also be free seasonal programs for Christmas gifts or Easter baskets.
