Free clothing closets, furniture, and school supplies Broward County

Find information on various programs that provide free clothes, back to school supplies, furniture, household goods and personal stuff to Broward County Florida residents. A number of items and services are available from charities as well as churches. The items offered include free clothing for work or general use, toys for the holidays, school supplies or backpacks, and other basic assistance, even including household furniture.

Many of the locations are non-profit agencies, churches, or human service centers. So staff want to do what they can to help the less fortunate in Broward County. In addition to providing direct assistance for clothes or basic needs or other stuff, many also can offer referrals to financial assistance and other programs. So get information on resources such as LIHEAP energy bill assistance, job counseling, government aid such as food stamps and more. All of this is usually offered in addition to clothing, food, diapers, and similar items.

To people with referrals, the program provides school uniforms, slightly used clothing and shoes. There may be pens, notebooks, calculators for students and other goods. There are multiple sites, including

The agency provides various resources to the low income. A clothing closet is available on site, as well as a food pantry. Free Christmas meals and toys may be offered (Angel Tree program), as well as a free back school supplies program or backpacks for students. Also has emergency rent and mortgage assistance along with assessments and referrals. A thrift store sells items, including furniture, gently used coats and clothing, and cribs at reduced prices. Offers clothing, household items, furniture, bicycles, diapers and other goods as well as stuff for sale. There is a free furniture bank for the low income and people in a crisis. The free or low furniture may be cribs, car seats, lights, tables, couches and more. There is a small SVDP furniture bank in Broward County.

Provides referrals and information on scholarships to at-risk youth and families. Also holds clothing drives for clients in need of basic assistance, including free school items such as notebooks, uniforms, backpacks, books, uniforms and similar needs. All supplies are free.
