Ada County residents can receive medical or dental care from community clinics and health centers in the region. Services, pricing, and types of medical care offered will vary by location. However almost all of the clinics do what they can to help the neediest in the community. The centers help the low income, people without insurance and others in need. The free medical and health centers may offer sliding fee billing scales or even free care from time to time.
Some of the community clinics are federal government qualified, meaning that they will try not to turn anyone away, regardless of their ability to pay or insurance status. Some clinics accept private insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid. Staff, including doctors, nurses, and medical professional (some of whom volunteer) are located at the health centers.
They can provide services such as immunizations, primary family health care, testing & screening, immunizations, counseling and education, physicals, basic procedures, and treatment for common illnesses and minor injuries. When someone has a more complicated need, the community clinic will often refer the patient to a nearby hospital or specialist in Idaho.

The free clinic has on staff volunteer health care professionals who will diagnose and treat non-emergent conditions, illnesses as well as select chronic issues. The location does offer on site limited Pharmaceutical medications and related services. They are only available to medical patients of the clinic, and prescription drugs from outside sources will not be filled.

They are a private, not for profit organization that is strongly committed to providing low cost yet high quality primary health and medical care to Ada County families of all backgrounds.
The Boise Clinic Idaho also welcomes referrals of new homeless patients, and they can treat individuals on government programs such as Medicare and Medicaid. All care if free for the homeless population, and there will be no cost for case management and primary health care. This free center provides vouchers for mental health care, vision care referrals, substance abuse treatment, lab work, and additional diagnostic services.
Most of this is done through contractual arrangements with other community providers or hospitals, when available. Services are also available from a variety of outreach locations and partner organizations in the region.
