Free food banks, groceries and pantries in Ada County.

Free food pantries help low-income families in Ada County and Boise Idaho who need assistance in obtaining groceries or household supplies. A number of churches, charities and government agencies provide support. Get free or affordable groceries, personal hygiene stuff, holiday meals, and foodstuff. Find free food pantries and soup kitchens in Boise and Ada County near you below.

The food banks and pantries, many of which are open today, will often offer resources as well as run programs that acquire supplies from a variety of sources. Find a referral number at the bottom of the page for more hunger prevention programs as well. Some of the free food distribution centers in Boise ID also partner with soup kitchens in order to be able to provide hot meals to families living in poverty, including free Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. Even find free Christmas food baskets for the low-income.

The Ada County food banks, including drive-thru pantries, will then distribute the groceries to low-income people who are in a crisis situation. Volunteers work with some charities, churches, and senior centers to deliver meals to disabled people and seniors for free. They will provide food or hot meals to people whose illnesses or disabilities make it difficult for them to leave home or shop on their own.

In addition to offering food, many centers can provide other forms of material assistance. This can include clothing, baby supplies, diapers, or they even run thrift stores. The locations provide extensive help to the elderly and low income.

The anti poverty organization also helps people save money on groceries, offer information on SNAP food stamps and other resources. Some of the resources offered here are as follows. Free Thanksgiving, Easter and Christmas meals and gifts are served. A food pantry and clothing closet are operated.
