Hi,
A couple things. Is it Atlanta Gas and Light? As they are the main provider in the area. If so, look here for their details. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... nce_p.html
And while this was already listed in the details below, you can look here for our list of places to try in Atlanta for help with bills.

I had an appointment at one stop shop yesterday but received a phone call from someone saying the woman called out (24 minutes before my appointment). My lights are going to be cut off any minute now. They start at 7:30 am disconnecting. Please help me with this emergency. I have a child that is almost two. I need my utilities. I have never been disconnected.

Hi Amayah
Try a charity or government program in Atlanta for rent help. Look here. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... rogr1.html

You did not say what college in Atlanta though. But there are financial aid programs for all schools in the area, and some may help with housing and look here. https://www.knowatlanta.com/education/f ... in-atlanta

Hello,
My name is Amayah, I hope all is well. I am reaching out to you all in a time of desperate need. I am a college student attending college in Atlanta and have recently found myself in a situation where I am at risk of losing my home. I have been struggling to make ends meet after losing my job, and the leasing office has informed me that they will be sending an eviction notice on Monday if I am unable to pay my rent.
As a scholar college student, I have been working hard to pursue my education and build a better future for myself. However, the unexpected loss of my job has put me in a position of financial hardship that I never anticipated. I am here in Atlanta by myself, and the thought of facing homelessness is overwhelming and frightening. I am reaching out to your organization in the hope that you may be able to provide me with rental assistance to help me through this difficult time. I am doing everything I can to find new employment and stabilize my situation here it Atlanta, but I fear that I may not be able to resolve this crisis on my own. I am sincerely hoping that your organization can offer me the support I need to avoid eviction and secure a stable living situation while I work to get back on my feet. Your assistance would mean the world to me and would provide me with the chance to continue my studies and pursue my dreams without the burden of homelessness hanging over me. Thank you for considering my request. I am hopeful that with your help, I can overcome this challenge and build a better future for myself.

Hello Good Morning,
My name is Tenisha and I am and new mom of my one year old son Casey. I currently reside in Atlanta, Georgia and in desperate need of some type of financial assistance regarding my bills, mostly utility. I'm awaiting the job hiring process for a federal position and was let go in my recent work due to Covid and being a single mom. I don’t get any assistance besides food stamps but no child support or any other means of income. I would be beyond grateful for anyone to reach out regarding help of any kind whether Atlanta light or power or something else. Thank you so much in advance.

Two college degrees is impressive. The job market in DeKalb Coutny as well as the city of Atlanta itself Georgia is picking up, so maybe something will open up for you soon. The resources are always limited, but you need to continue to call around and try as funding always comes and goes for rent and other bills. For additional information on programs in DeKalb, try this for information. http://www.needhelppayingbills.com/html ... rogr1.html

Thank you for your reply. I am in Georgia (Dekalb county) outside Atlanta, and like I indicated, I don't believe there are any resources left in Dekalb county for me that I have not already used. That's why I was hoping there might be some state run agencies available. Besides rent and utility assistance (especially rent since I have not paid August yet) I have been chronically unemployed for more than a year and need help with job placement as well.
It's gotten quite frustrating to say the least since I have been an office professional for nearly 20 years and have two college degrees, but nearly everything seems to back to knowing someone in the GA job market. But any further references in addition to the ones already provided would be appreciated.
