Columbus Ohio is in Franklin County, and here is a listing of agencies and non-profits that can provide emergency assistance. Even more so if someone has a medical condition like asthma.
http://www.needhelppayingbills.com/html ... e_pro.html
Some of the places to call include Center For Groveport Madison Human Needs, which can be reached at (614)586-4017.
another option is Columbus Department Of Public Utilities, which has programs for low income, the sick, disabled, and elderly. (614)645-3111
But the link you provide you with phone numbers and contact information for numerous other agencies in Columbus too.

In Orange County Florida try calling the Orange County Community Action Division, which is the local agency that administers the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). The phone number is (407) 836-8476
http://www.needhelppayingbills.com/html ... progr.html
Another option for energy and gas bills is Catholic Charities of Central Florida, and their phone number is 407-658-1818

I've exhausted all of the help that I'd normally get from family & friends and I don't know where else to turn. When I talked to Progress today I was told that I'm gonna need the money by Tuesday the 28th of Sept. at the latest. PLEASE PLEASE help me....Thank YOU Steph

How can they focus to file unemployment? Were you fired for cause, like stealing? I would like into that. You can speak to an attorney for free. Use the find free legal advise section of the main website.
In the meantime, here are various assistance programs for Indianapolis and Marion County Indiana.
Catholic Charities of Indianapolis has many programs for low income individuals, including financial assistance for bills and debts. (phone # 317.466.0015)
Of course another is the Community Action of Greater Indianapolis, Inc., which is a non profit that can direct you to grant programs, financial aid, and many other services. Dial (317) 396-180.
Definitely speak to an attorney in Indianapolis though

Is that Bond County Illinos? Who is your utility company? There are numerous programs that can help with low income housing and energy bills in Illinois. Here is a great resource. Also scroll to the bottom of the page here for energy specific programs. Who is your water provider?

I work only a few hours a week, I bring maybe 300 every two weeks, if I am lucky. Our rent is $385, Plus the cost of food, (We are trying very hard to get food stamps, but keep running into issues due to pay stubs)
We have been staying with my fiances parents in the time being. We have a young daughter, 16 months old.
Please, please, we need help, I am going to try to pay half of my electric bill, but I can not pay water and only paying half does not mean it will be turned on.
I have been searching every where for a program that helps with Water and Rent, but can't find one.
We live in Greenville IL.
We did not intend for this to happen, we are trying to apply for low income housing, but the waiting list is a 9 month wait.
And we can't stay with his parents that long, please, help.
Thank you.

Los Angeles electric and natural gas bill assistance exists. The link below provides much info. In addition, so more specifics include the following:
PG&E offers the Family Electric Rate Assistance (FERA). Call the utility company and ask them about it. Basically what it does it is a rate reduction program for large households of multiple family members, which is three or more people with low incomes.
Souther California Edison runs the Energy Assistance Fund, which provides low to moderate income people with a one-time cash grant/financial assistance of $100 during a one-year period. 800-205-8596
The California Alternate Rates for Energy (CARE) program is offered by all companies. It is for eligible customers and it will give all people a 20 percent discount on electric and natural gas bills. You need to ask your utility company about applying for CARE.

I think you have several options here.
Georgia Heating Energy Assistance Team (HEAT) - The HEAT program is run by the Georgia Department of Human Resources. Contact your local community action agency to apply. So call Central Savannah River Area Economic Opportunity Authority, Inc. (CSRA) at (706) 722-0493 and ask them about assistance for Georgia Power bills
Project Share is an assistance program run by the Salvation Army. 1-800-257-4273
I also do not think a utility company like Georgia Power can legally turn off power in this type of medical case. Here is information on how to get free legal advice in Georgia. You can ask attorneys these questions, and they can take immediate action.

My mom is on oxygen and I just came across this place after an internet search for emergency assistance. I need help badly and fast. PLEASE ANYONE!!!! The place were we live won't let us stay here if anyone of the utilities get cut off and I've been looking for a cheaper and better place. She has a concentrator from Lincare made by Invacare called the Perfecto. Please someone HELP US!
I applied for help with the local EOA Monday and Georgia Power said all the lady had to do was call them and tell them that we applied. I called and checked with Georgia Power today and they said that she didn't do anything and I called her office after and she starts yelling about not wanting to lose her job. How can you lose your job over one simple phone call to Georgia Power? It's part of the job when people apply for emergency assistance to call the company.
Why would she lie to me? Theis is VERY IMPORTANT! to ANYONE that will HELP I'll send the cut off notice for tomorrow and the bill (It's $236.03) to you if you want to see it first hand. Is there any way that anyone can help me before or by tomorrow? ANYONE PLEASE???? ALL I"M ASKING FOR IS A LITTLE HELP!
I live in Burke County, Waynesboro, Georgia The Company is Georgia Power

Try the Michigan Home Heating Credit
It is a Michigan state tax credit that can assist low and moderate income families living in Michigan with the cost of heating their homes. The Credit is based on household income, the number of exemptions claimed and the home's actual heating costs. Dial 1-800-827-4000 to learn more or apply. Applications, E-filing and more informtaion is available at:
Another option is the State Emergency Relief (SER), which provides limited assistance to Michigan households with low income who have an emergency that threatens their health or safety.
Last, but not least, The Heat and Warmth Fund (THAW). This is run by an independent non-profit charity organization, and THAW distributes funds for bill-payment assistance across the state and promotes energy conservation, weatherization and energy efficiency education. THAW partners with several utility companies, who provide funding to administer and operate the program. Most match customer and other donations dollar for dollar and all contributions go directly to low-income bill payments.
1-800-866-8429
Also, ask your utility or gas company for help.
