I am disabled & on a fixed income. I currently live in an apartment & when lease is up I've got to move. Rent is too much along with the electric cost. I need help on weather I can get help & stay at the apartment or help on what to do to find an apartment with rental assistance or section 8. There's so much info on internet that I'm overwhelmed & confused on what to do. I make calls & I just get referred to the next person. Please, can someone help me? Any useful assistance is greatly appreciated.

I'm homeless and my girlfriend has been trying to help me by letting me stay at her family members' houses. I'm only 17, when I turned 16 my aunt and uncle kicked me off because they couldn't benefit off me anymore with the money I got a month for being adopted. My mother was on drugs so my brother and I were separated and sent to foster homes. My aunt and uncle took custody of me when they found out the benefits. I was staying with my girlfriend's mother but she found it awkward and inappropriate once my girlfriend went off to a new state for a job. I recently got a job, and a landlord gave me a deal on an apartment because my girlfriend is a student in the area. All I need is the security deposit. I'll pay it back and do whatever it takes, I just need a place soon because I have no where else to go after this week is up. Help please. Call me if anyone sees this.

Not really sure what you mean by a grant, but there is no such thing as free money. However there are some non-profits and rental programs in Washington DC that you can try, and they are on the main site. Maybe they will have funds for helping with a first month rent payment or security deposit if the only other option available is homelessness.

How do you need help with the deposit? Not sure we understand. Did you already move into your Seattle apartment? The landlord let you do that without paying all the money? Anyway, we have extensive information on places to try in Seattle for rent help, and read more by

You didn't say what area that is and where exactly you need a voucher for. However there are places that may offer help for first months rent or deposits. Or they may offer loans for paying security deposits. There are community action agencies, Salvation Army centers, and more. If you reply with a location we can be more helpful as to where to go for a voucher. Otherwise, locate
resources for security deposits.

I've been struggling ever since I got discharged from the Navy during boot camp due to an injury. I got extremely sick after coming home with a problem with my kidney. I do work full time in Washington but it is not enough to get me by. I am currently living in between friends houses and my car. I have a place lined up to move to on December 1. But I only managed to save up enough for first and security. However this landlord want first last and security. I was wondering if there is any programs to help me?

To Whom It May Concern
I write to you due to me being in need of rental assistance for the month of November in Louisiana. I've had a little financial set back and was not able to make my rent now October is here and it will further deepen what I will be owing. I am also a newly graduate of college and need some type of assistance in making payments to avoid default. As a single working mom, not a recipient of any benefits I would like to know what is available for me or my options.

I am in need of help with rent deposit so that I can move out the house that I’m in. I can not get in touch with my current landlord for the past 4 months. He is selling the house and he has a lock box on my door so the people can come in and out my house while I’m not there. I need to hurry up and move. I have found another house but I’m having trouble getting the deposit together. I’m currently a student. I have two girls in school. Its very hard for me to find a job due to my illness (IBS) and me and my kids school schedules. I am in bad need of help. Please let me know of anyone that can give my family any help.

We are on Section 8, and should have moved by 7-31-13. As of today we will be homeless. We need emergency funds for 1st months rent and deposit. The places I have called either don't answer or can't help until next month. I am employed , but I am supporting my adult daughter and my 6 year old grandson. Can you help me contact someplace in Salt Lake City, Utah to get immediate help! Thank you.

I am in need of rental assistance. I am a single mother of 2 and one on the way. I am currently seeking employment and the only income I have is the $663.00 a month that my son receives for SSI. My rent is 750.00 a month and I have to pay gas, electric, water, phone, car insurance, as well as the necessities that my children and I need. It is really hard and I have nowhere to turn and have no idea of the places that could help. Please Help.

I have a temporary financial burden and cannot pay rent due to family moving in from out of state. I am short $500 on rent. My family will be able to help with rent once EDD kicks in or when she finds a job. I have taken in my sister and two kids. Please help, everywhere I call they are not offering any type of rental assistance. We also ran out of food, and we are a family of ten now. Please help. We would greatly appreciate all the help you can provide. Thank you.
