Good afternoon,
I need to inquire about assistance paying my electric bill. Before I recently moved, the apartment I was living at, had a horrible insulation, and AC problem. My bill skyrocketed from an average of 120.00 per month to 300.00 per month during the summer. I have been trying to chip away at it little by little since we moved. The whole reason for moving was to find a more energy efficient apartment. Ever since October of last year, I have been paying on it and paying on it, but I received a letter today, saying if I don’t pay the 274.00 that's late, by the 17th of October, they would disconnect my power.
Any help what so ever would be extremely appreciated. What can I do? I have attached a scanned copy of the letter I received today.

There are some emergency LIHEAP (Low-Income Home Energy Assistance) programs in Florida. Ask for the crisis service too at a local community action agency. While they won't help with water, they may have financial aid for the electric bills you have. it can also be used to prevent a disconnect of your service. Read Florida LIHEAP electric bill help.

Have you tried calling Nicor for any other payment plans? Or did they say no since they already gave you one deal. There are other solutions in Illinois from Nicor, state options like LIHEAP and more. I am on SSI and have a electric bill from 12/2/2013 that my utilities will be shut off ten days from the said date. Embarrassed as I am that I need assistance for electric and rent bill. Tacoma Public Utilities is my provider. I had signed up for the discount program from TPU which wont apply until the bill is back at zero. I have never asked for help before and would be greatly appreciated if I receive help, bill being 123.00. For rent I am behind 275.00 out of the 595.00 rent that was owed. I am disabled and really can't afford being homeless with my health conditions.

I need help with my electric bill in Texas. I am on a fixed income of 341.00 a week and I have a roommate which is also out of work on short term disability until September. He has been paying rent and I have been taking care of the utilities. Well he just finally got his first check of 123.00,so needless to say, rent hasn't been paid and I am way behind on the electric bill. We have a shut off notice for the 24th and between rent and that I just don’t no where the money is going to come from. My roommate also has a 7 year old that he has custody of. I have called other organizations and everyone says they have no funds. I just don’t no where to turn and the electric company just don’t want to budge, please help.

I'm 19 years old and my parents have past away and they left me a house and I lost my other job. I'm trying to start my CNA classes and get a job at the nursing home in Florida. I can not afford to pay my electricity and water bill right now. They are both cut off. I heard from a friend that you all might would help me out. I'm looking for possible help to pay my electric bill. The company I was working for shut down and I have been trying to find work. Things have been going from bad to worse lately and as hard as I'm trying I can't seem to get it straightened out. I have to do something but every time I try the internet I get re routed or can't find an application. I'm not very good with the internet and this is the first place I found where I can actually request help. I hate having to ask. Hello. I am praying you can help me or lead me to someone that can. I've been trying with no avail to get emergency help with paying my water bill. I'm not asking for someone to pay the whole thing, just some help. I've been trying to contact the LIPP program or H20 help to others programs. I have tried to speak to supervisors and others at my water company and they will not budge. Even if I paid half of the bill, they won't budge and are very adamant. My bill has fallen behind due to a lot of financial emergencies that have come up, including health issues for myself, that resulted in a cervical cone biopsy on Monday. I can explain in detail all that has led to this position my family is in. I am praying and begging for help. Please contact me as soon as you are able. I have been emailing and calling any agency that I have found through research and referrals and will continue to keep trying with the ones who I have not gotten a response from yet and continue to research for any other places that I may be able to find. My ex husband left the country without leaving the promised funds to pay the bills he is required to pay. I still have a minor child at home, and our electricity will be shut off Monday. I am due a tax refund, but it is taking time, in part, I hear, due to the fiscal cliff. I just need a loan of $200 until the refund comes in to stop our utilities from being shut off. I need help with my electric bill. I have a permanent P.F.A. on my husband and he has contacted Penelec to shut off my electric since it was in his name. However, I have very bad credit and they are requiring a $300 which I do not have any money at all. I am unable to sell any marital property due to a court order, and do not have any other resources like family to borrow from because I am an only child and my parents are deceased. I only have 10 days before my electric gets shut off. There is also a past due balance of $935 that needs to be paid and they said that I am held responsible for it since I am "benefiting" from their service. But this past due balance occurred while my husband had been still living in the home. Is there anything that can help me with this balance? I did apply online for energy assistance with COMPASS on 3/13/13. I'd appreciate any info I can get please.

I need assistance paying my utilities. I am disabled and only my husband works. I have been without gas for 3 months. I was denied twice by LIHEAP because my son worked one month and lost his job. I made a deal to pay 1/3 of the Nicor bill to get reconnected. I had to borrow the money. My electric is due to be shut off any day. I put 60 dollars down, all I had hoping I could make payment arrangements but they denied that request. I don’t know where else to look. Thank you.

I am needing help with my electric bill. I have 3 children and their dad is on social security so we are on a fixed income and only get paid one time a month. The electric company PSO will not work with us at all our bill is always due before he gets paid so we have had several cut offs. I have seen a program that gives disabled people discounted electric bills and I have not been able to find that organization since.

I am presently ill and have been diagnosed with a severe bladder disease. I have lost my job. I have no income or money. I lost my home and have had to move in with family friends who are paying all living expenses. What I need right away is help with our electric bill for the current month. We have no means to pay it. The cutoff date is Monday September 24th. It is 327.00. Also I need help with doctor’s appointment and bills. I have no medical insurance and NO ONE will help me. Again I have lost my job because I am ill. I have contacted TDHS and they won’t help me. I have called other places and still can't get help. I have begun the process of applying for SSI/Disability however the legal offices that are handling my case have told me it will likely be a year until I get benefits or Medicare. Hi there I went on line to try to find assistance for helping me pay my electric bill. I have 80 but need $100 more. I've been struggling for awhile now due to payday loans online. MY LIGHTS ARE GOING TO BE CUT OFF TOMORROW. I am 58 years old and recently lost my job of 16 years. It is 100 degrees and I cannot live in this heat. I have never received assistance. My lights were off last month for 3 days but it wasn't as hot then. PLEASE help me. It is a prepaid phone and will be off on 6/2/12 unless a friend pays it. To Whom It May Concern: I live in Lafayette, Louisiana. Here is my situation. I am recently disable due to a surgery. I had ask my landlord can I pay 215 out of the 315 rent that was due in order to pay my other bills. So today I received a letter saying I need to pay other 100 by tomorrow. All I have on me is 136 dollars, in which I owe 133 to Entergy. Would have paid them but I was keeping on to it so I can purchase food. So in order to stay home I need to give my landlord his money but if I do that
in a matter of days I will be without electricity. I wouldn't receive a check until the 9th. He will not wait and Entergy will not also. So confused and do not have anyone I can turn to. I got help through Liheap and Citizens here in Massachusetts. My family is having a rough time. My husband is terminally ill-we deal with that every day.But money is in short supply after bills. Our fuel oil is for heat ,but also for heating the water and right now we are out. I need help. The electric may be getting close to be shut off. Do you know anyone that can help us one more time.
