Hi,
Obviously a new car (even used) is not common. But since you can pay a little more it (even if "just" $300 or so per month) that may help some place in Olathe help you. So try this for our main list of programs for a free vehicle but we also have some ideas for Olathe KS. Such as "Cath a Ride", they give free trips. Maybe they can provide a vehicle too and their info is here. https://www.jocogov.org/department/agin ... catch-ride

To whom it may concern,
I need immediate assistance with paying a deposit, getting a car and the bills on a place for myself and my children. We are currently homeless because I ran out of funds to pay for a hotel. We have no car, nowhere else to go. I have called the Salvation army in my area several times to get money or a used vehicle and have not received a return call. I am currently working but it's not enough to sustain a weekly $300 a dollar car payment so we need something cheaper than that. I found a place that is reasonably affordable for my family. We are located in Olathe, Kansas. Please help us get money for a car or place to live. It's been days that we have been literally on the street in the heat during the day and low chill of night

Hi Elijah,
We have information on programs for the Columbus OH area that can help with transportation. Though of course a car is rare, but you can try. First option is to contact Impact Community Action in Columbus for transportation help. Maybe they can address the rental needs too.
As far as other options, try this for our list of local car programs by state - https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... grams.html
Also we found this option for affordable or free Goodwill cars s in OH as well https://www.goodwillcolumbus.org/donate/auto-auction/

I’m seeking help to get a car in Columbus OH so I can get a job and pay my August rent with the late fees added.  If you could please get back to me and the free charity cars in Columbus it would be appreciated.

Hi Jensen,
FCC (Free Charity Cars) really focuses on people who need a vehicle for work. Not just "getting around". So not sure if that is the program for you or not, but read about their service here. https://freecharitycars.org/
As far as other options, look here for where to get a free car with links to national and more regional options.
For ore state specific programs, check this out. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... grams.html

Can someone from your car office please text me? I am having a god-awful time finding help getting around and heard about this Free Charity Car program. I'm disabled and I have anxiety and panic attacks, and this is doing it searching for programs. Its god-awful searching for a ride to the doctor or store or a free car and I can’t do it anymore so trying the FCC charity car program. I'll end up living in my shed. Oh my gosh does it put a person in a whirl wind looking.
Thank you.

Hi,
As we are sure you know, a free car is not common but there are some options. Dallas has a local community action agency - known as the community council and you can find the info here. Try it. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... allas.html
And of course the main page listed more national programs for a car that also cover Dallas. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... _cars.html

With the remainder of our funds we were able to make rent, but we currently don't have money to pay for a new car. I would really appreciate the help if at all possible.

Hi Stephanie,
You say you are in Houston? There are a few dedicated organizations in the city (and Harris County) you can try for a car. Can anyone get you to the application site? If not, we also have phone numbers to them on our site and find all the details on potential free car programs in Houston that may help you. Or maybe they will give you other referrals. Good luck.

Hi,
Southern CA is so expensive for housing and many people do, sadly, sleep in their car. But getting a free vehicle seems unlikely - as most charity programs give out a free or low-cost car for people that need it for work. Not sleeping in. Have you tried a shelter in the area? Anyway, you can always check around and here is a list of charity programs for a free car.
But again, they focus on employment needs, but you can try.

Do free car programs help homeless people?

Hi there,
I wanted to know if you or another organization you know of helped homeless people get cheap used / or free donated cars?
I'm a domestic violence victim who has been found in every state I have lived in until now, due to my abuser hiring a private eye and using other ways online to find me.(debit card, background searches etc.)
I was hoping I could spend a small amount of money to get cheap used or maybe a charity will give me a free vehicle or camper to sleep in?
Figure I can live in the car, get a job, and be ok, return to a semi normal life.
--I’m in southern California counties
Now, it's hard to stay clean, keep an appointment or be safe. I was assaulted the other night while sleeping.ie, I change where I sleep for safety reasons and cannot keep a job as a result for this reason too.
I just want to be safe so I can work again.
If your or another organization had any help or insight in regard to this, it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Shannon,
W have different car giveaway programs listed on our site. But Dublin probably does not have one - as too small. But a non-profit to try is called Opportunity Cars. They may have resources for you.
Also, as we are sure you saw from this thread we have other options listed too - with this being our main car list.

Hi Deborah,
It depends on where you live in SC, but there are some free local and regional care programs. But the programs are of course rare, and sounds like you need even more long term help as well. Try this for a car assistance programs in SC.

My name is Deborrah. I am a 65 year old disabled senior who moved from Georgia back to South Carolina to help my daughter with her children during the pandemic. Now that I have given up my apartment in Georgia and moved to South Carolina, I am no longer needed and my daughter has informed me that she want me to move by December and, I honestly have nowhere to go and really no way to get around.
I have been diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Osteoarthritis and Fibromyalgia and spend every day in pain. I have countless doctors appointments but have no car. I'm so stressed right now because I feel like I am living on bored time. I really need a car and a place to live but at this point, a car would definitely a blessing for me.

I want to get back to working but not having a vehicle now is causing a financial hardship for myself. I am trying to increase my finances, better my life and not to depend on other people for rides. I also want to take some classes at the college leaning towards paralegal work & a Notary. If you could help me on purchasing a vehicle that would be great! Look forward to hearing from you! Debbie

Hi Amber and Vernon (above),
There are non-profits that give out free cars, such as Goodwill, Ways to Work programs and some community action groups too. But the process takes time and it is not a crisis service. Also, some will require minimal good faith payments or have other criteria. As you can imagine, getting a free vehicle is not easy or widely available, but find a list of places for a free car application here. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... _cars.html

I recently got into a vehicle accident where my car was smashed with my daughter and I inside. I hope your non-profit can help me get one.
Thank you. Please contact me ASAP.
