So sorry to read that - horrible. So you did it for work and it fell through. So sad.
That may be tough. But there are some programs for free bus passes, such as Greyhound, etc. as well as gas cards and other programs that help with transportation.
The housing will be much harder - but again they are both hard. Know anyone else in Omaha to stay with? Can't your buddy even but you up for XXX days. Anyhow, maybe try a list of local homeless shelters.

I drove from Sania Ontario to Omaha because my stepbrother said he had work for me with a buddy, and it would cover my motel and gas home as well as food and could go home with 2000 after my expenses.
So, I brought my whole family and found out once here he lied to me. I am broke and can't afford a gas home or the motel I am in... I have 2 children and my wife and not sure where to turn.
Could you please give me some guidance as I have no one to ask for help...and I am scared I don't know what to do or how to feed or house my family now...
