Hi,
Well great for you to try to help that person! As you say, mental illness is a serios thing - sadly often overlooked by society. But there are programs and options you can try, as you mentioned Virginia? If so, find local assistance programs in Virginia from that link/URL.

He can't get a second job because he owes Virginia money and cannot get his vehicle registered. How can I help him get caught up on his medical bills and personal property taxes so he can get the mental health help he needs to dig himself out of his challenges?

Having no idea how to go about helping someone with a mental illness is difficult. Here is the situation. This person is struggling with depression, which makes it difficult to keep things going for him. He also had a nervous breakdown several weeks ago. He continues to fall further and further behind because of his low paying job. He has technical skills (computer based like A+ certs and some others) but is in such a bad place that he cannot get through an interview even when he gets them. His doctor won't see him anymore because he owes them money. He can't get a second job because he owes Virginia money and cannot get his vehicle registered. How can I help him get caught up on his medical bills and personal property taxes so he can get the mental health help he needs to dig himself out of his challenges?

Yes, we recommend a clothing closet for you. They are free and give out clothes, household items, and even medical equipment that may help you since you had a mental breakdown. Look here for free clothes near you.

My husband and I are both unemployed. I was a teacher until last year when I suffered a nervous breakdown. My husband has been doing contract work, so now we find ourselves both unemployed. He is 60 and I am 58. Because of our age and specific skills, we have had difficulty securing jobs. We do not qualify for social security. We have gone through savings, unemployment and even a small inheritance after my nervous breakdown. We have ZERO income coming in at this point. We are just beginning to get behind on bills dealing with these mental health issues. We have contacted our mortgage company for any assistance.  Is there anything you can do to help us?
