Hello.
I am a single mom of a school aged child who has heart disease and has had open heart surgery .
I have lived in my rental home for 13 years and without any state or federal aid until December 2023- as a former relative caretaker for my quadriplegic sister - I lost my sister and the same day I lost my job.
My husband of 24 years left just months before that and I need to move now.
I am now on SNAP and TANF.
I meet a lot of categories that may be considered high priority to help with relocating.
I HAD AND PASSED A HUD inspection 2 years ago - for the purpose of becoming a host home so my sister could receive the DD waiver,
So, I have kept up the standards and know it’s in passable condition and my landlord will accept assistance and I am working with the workforce to gain skills and improve my income as I start back in the workforce outside of my home.
I was well on my way and just completed a pre-apprenticeship program for basics in construction , got accepted into a carpentry apprenticeship and found that I was great in the construction field and its entry is high wage to start out, higher than I ever made before - but 2 days before the basics was finished I fell down a flight of stairs and broke my leg in 5 places 2 breaks are at the back of my knee at the plateau of my tibia and the femur, which has 2 total breaks the tibia 3 and I tore the ACL and meniscus and many other things and boom / back at the bottom healing and restarting.
Now I don’t have this month’s rent paid. My rent is fair because I moved here 13 years ago. But things changed and relocation is now the best option for me. My landlord knows he can get another 1000 more from anyone else and my daughter only 2 years left of high school has been in this district for her whole life and will be a first gen college student.
She wants to open a first of its kind in Colorado day program for physically disabled but sound minded or slightly delayed and nonverbal community offering more geared towards them fun and increase the quality of their lives while giving caretakers a break during the week, and she needs to finish up at her high school , she is well loved and I’m an 8th grade graduate, I can’t even help her with homework, not since 4th grade.
I will include some of the information that may help with prioritization below.
*I am a former homeless youth from downtown / silos and mallrat.
I lived at the Samaritan house with my mom and brother in the early 90’s.
*I am a former Colorado foster child.
I am a survivor of sexual abuse.
I am a former addict.
I lost my mom and brother on the streets downtown.
I am a single mom.
My child is at high risk for complications from common colds and flu covid and rsvp will likely take her life, we are better off sleeping in a car than a shelter.
I am hopeful as a single mom for a batter life for my kid.
I am thankful for your time and any help you can give me in the direction of maintaining stability.
I was not receiving any aid, not even food stamps from November 2000- December 2023 and I will put forth more effort than you have ever seen to regain the ability to take care of myself and child without aid than you have ever seen in your life. I want to be self-sufficient and know I have the ability and the time and help you put into me and Audrey grace will be a good use of time and resources--- I will not let the help be for nothing.
I am resilient and determined and need such a little bit of help right now and no one has taken a second to consider doing anything to help us out.
I will stay on my feet if I can get help up moving to a new place. Please consider this, I am not the average case and will make you proud to have help up. I am different than most and my situation is easy compared to a lot with the HUD passed inspection and landlord accepting assistance and my drive to regain my self-sufficient .
Also- I am really good with my money - I do not waste a penny. I own my car , make a onetime car insurance payment a year ( liberty mutual has 12 month policies ) we do not have cable and never have , we do not have any outgoing cost for devices ,we have 10 Wi-Fi no cell bill, no name brand anything, I put water savers on all my faucets use low energy bulbs and wash clothes and dishes late when at a lower tier. We wear our cloths 3 times before washing to save on soap, water electric and gas and I only buy sale items I have coupons for after I have checked the clearance rack- and do not have anything name brand at all. We live within our means and volunteer in the community - and I can do any work around your building to pay back for the help.

Hello my name is Annmarie. My boy friend and I had a baby two weeks ago today! We are currently residing with his mother under her roof but I am still a single mom that needs to relocate.
We found the perfect apartment for $1000 a month, 2 bedroom. We have some money saved. However, the landlord is asking for first six months rent upfront. We don't even have half. My boy friend has a good job working for the town. Problem is it's only $15 an hour and it's part time. My recovery specialist gave me your info and said you may be able to help. The place is in Camden County for relocation.

If you are a single mom, does your income support a home/apartment on your own? When factoring in other life costs? If so, a charity or government program may help with your rent. But any Winston Salem agency will want to see self-sufficiency. Find rent assistance in Winston Salem here.

We (a single mom and my kids) are in the process of looking for something that is section 8 approved in the Winston Salem NC or Mocksville NC area. I am wondering if you know of any places that would help with a new security deposit amount or to help with moving costs. Please let me know if you know of anything. Thanks.

Funding comes and goes. in fact, it can change by the day, week, or month. Sometimes it is financial aid or some times free advice, such as for legal need. Try the
El Paso County Colorado emergency rental assistance programs.

I live in Colorado Springs, Colorado and am a single mom looking for relocation services. I have been all over your website and it is loaded with outdated info. The 18006592656 number that is provided as an information line is actually a relay service. Many of the locations listed are no longer helping with rental payments. You are having scams too. So, it leaves people like my family, a single mom, on the brink facing a court date and then being homeless. HUD you may want to let people know they have a credit requirement of a 620 score or higher.

Hey, I am a single mother with 3 kid’s - 15 year boy, 6 year girl, and 2 years old boy. We moved into this trailer park in Port Royal, VA and are looking to relocate. I would like to add that we moved from a 38 foot camper located in four winds campground in Caroline county, VA. I lost my car 1 year ago and have been suffering with PTSD, anxiety, and depression. I have been keeping and contact with landlord about why I'm late paying rent my husband's disability got cut last month because of an error they said because they didn't have my youngest listed as my husband's. The landlord is taking me as a single mom to court this month on the 17 the please if someone can help.....We have been after the landlord for months to fix issues he has known about since we signed lease but has not fixed...I do to want to move the kids have their own rooms and the space is nice for us, just need help getting back on our feet and relocating so we don't lose our kids if we lose this house.....
