Good morning, my name is Allison. I am the mother of 2 wonderful children, Chloe age 13 and Ashton age 15. We have recently relocated to Archdale to get away from an abusive relationship with my ex-husband husband. I am a little embarrassed to reach out to you since I have never been in this type of situation. This is our first Christmas on our own, so we are not celebrating this year due to starting over. It just was not financially in our budget. I am reaching out to you to ask for help with furniture assistance. We currently have no beds or refrigerator in our house I just rented. I didn't know if your organization helped with this type of situation. Thanks for your help sincerely Allison.

Hello,
My name is Josette \and my family and I are experiencing a really tough time catching up on our bills and getting furniture for our kids. Our October rent is $700 including the $25 late fee. We really need emergency help and have no family or friends to assist. We have a 5 yo and a 3 yo. My husband just started working at the Lure Lake bar and have been struggling to make ends meet. I work from for a magazine that is only quarterly so it's not much of an income.
Katie G used to be my social services worker and when my husband began making more money at his last job we lost all our benefits outside of state medical assistance. My husband had been offered a second position as an assembler for GCI in Garfield and he starts at the end of October so we'll be back in the green soon we just need help getting out of this slump now and having some money to buy kids a bed and dresser. Our landlord Aaron has been super understanding of our situation of an unfurnished apartment but we're drowning and haven't food shopped in over a month trying to catch up on bills.
Please help. My number is below. He's willing to work with any organization that can help.
Sincerely,
Josette

Hi,
Congrats for moving into your first home! And yes, housing (including in Chicago) is expensive. But here are some places for free stuff in Chicago, including furniture.

Hello,
My children and I are moving into our 1st home and are super excited as we are wrapping up our move. I didn't realize moving was so expensive and I have exhausted my financial account.

My husband was laid off this past month and we are going to be unable to pay out so had to move. Now we need stuff for out new place as we sold what we had to live on. He is a veteran and going to college which will get us a living allowance starting October first and we are both currently looking for work. We are stressing about furnishing our housing for us and our two boys and even getting them a bed and mattress to sleep on and some stuff to cook with and all those basics. I need direction to someone that can help us with a onetime assistance. We already get food stamps and Medicaid for our kids.

Can you send me resources for free furniture for low income and homeless people that move into supportive housing? And if there are any hardship grants for homeless people or low income. And any other resources to get stuff for housing?

Hello my name is Steven. I was just currently approved for a section 8 housing voucher as I have cancer. I'm beyond blessed to finally have a place to lay my head after loosing it all after getting cancer and becoming homeless. I need assistance with furniture for the home. With the events that cancer brought upon us all really hit me hard. I'm starting to barley get back on my feet and need a bed to sleep in and couch to sit on. Slowly but surely its becoming reality. I just need assistance with furniture and a bed to get a good night's rest after sleeping in parks and anywhere I found it safe. Anything will help and I'm thankful for the little things. Please consider helping with anything to get my apartment looking like a normal house. Thanks soooo much and God bless you!
Hi Steven,
In addition to the resources listed above, here is information on
free furniture distribution near you, with a list of cities and programs down the page.

Hello, my name is Robert. I am experiencing hardship because of a bed bug outbreak. My home was infested last week and it was a total loss but the most need is new beds for my kids. We don't have clothes or anything due to the bed bugs, but my kids need a bed to sleep in right now. We have been in a hotel room for a couple days but we have run out of money to stay. After tonight we will be back on the streets, is there anyway you could help us?

Hello, my name is Jessie. I am literally sitting on 3 years with bed bug infestation! I have mentioned it to my landlord every single time he has come and he just gave me a heater to... I am guessing suffocate them. Kind of absurd, someone can even come check how they are taking over the house, walls, outlets, MY KIDS!
Hi Jessie
Sorry to hear that about the infestation, and that sounds brutal. If the landlord is not doing the work, and the place is unsafe, you can report it. As far a a new bed program, try a
furniture bank
In addition, the government has information on some bed bug resources too. It is an EPA guide, and find the EPA bed bug programs.

I have probably been through 6 different couches and 6 beds. My kids are sleeping on an infested mattress still because I cannot afford anymore on my low income nor do I want to put anything else in this house. Basically, I am just looking for help. Any benefits I get approved for to get a bed. I do receive SNAP and currently on the section 8 waiting list. I was seeing a therapist for mental health as this is killing us. Please any information or places to turn to you can help me with I will greatly appreciate it.

Hello my name is Kelly and I live in Jacksonville FL 32209. I'm looking to see if I can get help with my current bills and a couch or kitchen table. Myself, my 6 year old son and his father were living in a motel for over a year and then together in a garage. We just got our own place finally a few months ago but we are struggling with car issues and finding work. We have only beds for furniture and we can really use some help. Any furniture you can donate to us or tell us where to go is very much appreciated.

Hi all (including Maggie)
Obviously this thread has info in it on free furniture programs, charities, thrift stores and furniture banks. But to clear this up, look here for the furniture banks.

Another option, which has pros and cons, is renting furniture. But be mindful of this process, but it can help people get furniture quickly. Learn about the rental process here.

Hi my name is Maggie. I'm in need of immediate assistance with furniture if possible. I lost my home Friday February 4, 2024 due to a faulty wire catching on fire in the attic of my new residence. All my stuff, and furniture for the entire home, was destroyed. I had just moved in on the 1st of February. I didn't get renters insurance before moving in because I was planning on doing it on my following payday. I lost everything to the damages from the fire and water. I'm currently staying at the Super 7 Inn in Bossier City, LA 71112. I'll be here until my landlord renovate a temporary property to move me in my 2 children into within the next or so. My son school helped with some food, essentials, and set up transportation for my children to get to and from school since we are temporarily displace. But my main concern is furniture. All mattresses were destroyed, my living room furniture, and dining room table. Any help would be greatly appreciated....pictures and fire report will also be included...Thanks in advance

To whom it may concern,
My Name is Randy,
I sent papers to you to reapply for my furniture voucher in April and someone that I talked to said that it would be 6 months until you get to my paperwork. Well Now, the bed bugs are back so I need more furniture and a bad with a mattress and the amounts that I put on those papers are wrong. Just wanted to know if I'm close to being called to see if you are going to keep paying these or not or what I will get the furniture I need and other stuff I would like to know ASAP!!!! Also I Spoke to a person that helped me with my SNAP and Medical get extended and they ask how I was paying for new mattress I requested and they told me about this assistance. I told her that I wasn't allowed to get it because I do it by payment plan and I had Money in it and she said I wasn't allowed to get this assistance.
She asked Who told you that you cannot get it? I said to somebody in the center county assistance office. Well she told me that I could get it even though I had money in it and she told me that she would be sending me Papers through the mail, Well I haven't seen any of those Papers and it's been almost a month and a half since I talked to her. So, Am I qualified for this stuff for my housing Program? Please let me know How much Longer I have to wait. Thank You!

Hi I was wondering if you helped with furniture? My 6 month old daughter and three toddlers ages 2,4 and 4 and 1/2 years old also myself been sitting and laying on the floor for month's now in our section 8 home.
We had to throw all of our items out due to bed bugs. We didn't know the house had bugs until a few weeks after living there and I started seeing marks on my kids. My landlord refused to give me my money back instead he sent a company out for the bugs. But I still had to throw everything out. My kids father passed away so I am left taking care of everything on my own and with this covid I haven't been able to work. I do side jobs to keep a roof over my kids head and use section 8 to pay the rent, but furniture is expensive. We need beds, mattresses, and somewhere to sit. I can't even give them a Christmas this year I wanna at least give them a couch to relax on. I don't know if you help with furniture but maybe you could help me out with some resources that possibly could help me out.

Hello,
My children and I are moving into our 1st home and are super excited as we are wrapping up our move. I didn't realize moving was so expensive and I have exhausted my financial account. Right now we are in need of a few basic furniture items; a family couch or sofa, which is the most costly for us. We also need a desk with a chair also, so we have a place to do work other than the couch. Please let me know if assistance in anyway is possible. We look forward to hearing from you soon.

There are charities that help people with cancer as well as government programs. Of course try a furniture bank or read more on
money for cancer patients.

I have no bed, I have been sleeping on floor, no furniture, no kitchen items.
I need help. I am getting over cancer, and all of my things were stolen by someone who I thought were my friends. They will not give anything back to me.
So Iām starting over.

Try a free furniture bank. There are some "regional" ones as well as local charities. They do help seniors, if they meet income and other criteria. Some may have appliances too, and locate
free furniture programs from charities.

My question is do this company offer furniture grants for seniors.

Good Afternoon!
I am writing to see if your organization would be willing to help a senior member of my church with grants for furniture. This is a couple in Wilson, NC the wife is disabled and the husband is trying to work but only part time and he is in need of a surgery. He also rides a bicycle to work. They are in desperate need of transportation, grants for furniture and help. Are there any organizations that will help with donating a car or down payment to help this couple?
Thank you,
Pastor
