Car for medical appointments

Post by Thomas »

My name is Thomas, my wife and I are disabled and collecting SSDI, I have medicare and my wife has medicaid. I will be having a back surgery procedure and my wife needs hip replacement surgery. We are currently living with my wife's mother and she has put her house up for sale and the car we are using will soon be taken away. Is there anything out there that can help us with a vehicle and rental assistance, we will have to move and we can't afford security deposit and all moving costs, since neither one of us can physically move our things and we are in desperate need of a vehicle and we can't afford one, my wife has had two strokes and needs her blood level checked every two weeks and after we both have doctor's appointments and will have no way of getting there. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for reading this.

A few options are 1800 charity cars and a community action agency may also be able to provide transportation for a medical appointment. Here is a link for info on varios charities both across the US, as well as state specific organizations. You can also find some info on paying medical bills and other expenses I am sure you must have.

I need to know about any and every assistance program available to me and my children as I start over from a long recovery from surgery. I am getting back on my feet and I simply want knowledge of every national and local grant or assistance afforded to me as well as for transportation [cars] and used computers. Mostly it is for medical needs. Thank you and contact me as soon as time permits.

If you are recovering from surgery, are you on disability? If so, there are transportation programs. Find a free ride for the disabled. They can get you to the doctor, a clinic, store, or really any place you need to go for support you need. Try them for what you need, and we have tons of information on the site about every grant out there.

My friend has a son 5 years old with cancer her car is broke down and she needs help to get her son to doctor medical appointments, etc. Is there a place in Illinois to help her out with getting a vehicle? She only needs 900$ to get a vehicle to get this boy to the doctor appointments.

Would a bus pass work? As a number of charities give them for medical reasons. Maybe you can try one for the 5 year old kid. Maybe they can even help fix the car too. Anyway, find free bus passes. https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/htm ... asses.html

Hello
The reason why I am contacting you is this:
I have been in a very deep friendship and relationship with Sister in Christ who is considered to be my Best and the most Faithful Friend that I have.
She is a breast cancer survivor and she desperately need a vehicle to get around for medical appointments.
She can’t afford a vehicle due to her low income, but she is temporarily using her sister’s car. She is a widow and she have 1 daughter who goes to elementary school.
She is member in the Church of Christ in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
Any help purchasing Rosy a car would be greatly appreciating it by God and Sister Rosy along with everyone in her family including myself, for I am considered to be her best friend according to what Sister Rosy said to me.
I can’t afford getting her a vehicle for medical appointments due to my low income situation, but I believe, and I know that there are Churches and Organizations across the Globe that provide financial help to those that are in desperate need of a good vehicle to get around.
She deserves to receive a brand new vehicle because God used her to prevent me from committing suicide last year when I tried to end myself due to high depression that I had to deal with last year before the Love of God touched me and changed me forever Amen!
May God Bless you and all the work of your hands in Jesus Name Amen!!!!

Now we have no idea if there are car programs in Harrisonburg County, but there will be charities and social service type agencies. We have many listed. Maybe they can help your friend by giving a grant or something. Maybe churches can also give a volunteer type ride for the medical appointment, which may be beneficial to your friend who is seeking help from God or a church.

I was in a coma for a unknown amount of days to me but I did not come out of my coma until the day my youngest daughter came to the hospital with a Blessed prayer blanket and laid hands on me with prayer asking Jesus please don't take her mother away. And they help me unknowingly to me before she could reach her home the hospital called her within 15 minutes of her cry’s and prayers. I did wake up, so if there is any help I can get with a car for my medical appointments. I have to go to Therapy and cancer doctors’ appointments...Please and Thank You.

Dear friend,
My name is Lesley and I am a Peer Support Specialist working in Raleigh North Carolina. I am currently serving a 61 year old man living in severe poverty and he has a 1991 Nissan Maxima that is in need of some car repairs. This is his only form of transportation and his only way to get to his medical appointments and connect with others. He is severely depressed and very isolated, and I have been trying to help him to find support and community resources for the car for his medical. Sadly, he is in a seemingly hopeless situation and I am trying to find anyone that can repair his car so that he can build a support system and regain some hope. I am greatly concerned about his deep grief over the way his life has turned out and am praying that you may be able to help me find him some help. He has a number of needs but the greatest is his car repairs. If you can help in any way please let me know.
Thank you for your kind consideration,
Starwood

Dear Helpers,
I found some info on your website stating funds may be available to help give grants to low income people get help with car repairs if they need it for medical appointments.
My 60 you husbands had a massive stroke 3 months ago.  He is no longer able to work and has applied for SSDI.  I work full time; however, I bring home less than $1100.00 a month.  A couple months ago I heard clicking in my steering wheel and it also would lock up,( different than low steering fluid).  I took car to get repaired.  They found 3 different steering columns from junkyards for my car and each time the part arrived at mechanics the plastic defective clip was broken.. the same part that was broke on my car.
After one week I picked car as I need it for doctor appointments up because they ran out of options.  A new part is $1200.00.   I googled the part and found that it was a recalled part for my year, make and model, however, my Vin number wasn't on recall list.  I parked the car because many times the steering failed to turn wheels and some fatalities occurred.
I need my car to go back and forth to work and for medical needs.  I have only income and I am afraid I will eventually lose my means of living due to no transportation.
Do you think you can please assist us with a car repair grant?
We really appreciate any help, even steering us in a direction where we can receive help. (No pun intended).Thank you for your consideration.

if you car needs that much repairs (at that amount) seems like a waste to poor more money into it. It may be better to look for a different form of transportation for those medical appointments. There are some free care from charities.

Hello
I'm seeking help to obtain a vehicle to get back and forth to medical appointments. I'm on SSDI and just started a job because with rent and all I'm unable to make ends meet.
One and a half years ago I lost all income from my work and SSDI. I had to take an overnight position during COVID, and I need a car or vehicle for the work or doctor - medical needs. It came with a dollar change that put me over the limit for SSDI. Then my health took a wild turn and I became homeless and had to sell my 2018 Nissan that I had for 4 years because I couldn't pay for it, so I need a new vehicle for the medical stuff I need.
I'm still homeless with a section 8 voucher that I can't fill because of lack in housing. I'm bouncing from here to there with my ESA and I just need to get a car to work to be able to find a place to live. Please help. I need a car loan to get a reliable car through brand motors.
