Seniors facing foreclosure

Dear Sir/Madam:
I am a senior citizen collecting social security. My wife has been the main source of our income since my disability in 1991. She was laid off from her manager position with a local computer company (due to reduction in forces) in Albuquerque, in May of this year. We own our home however it has been referred to foreclosure attorney. She recently started a new position with another company in Albuquerque, however we are so far behind in our utility, phone and basic monthly expenses, and doing our best to play catch up. We are cash strapped, and in great need of assistance with our utility bills (PNM is helping with a payment plan although this only helps with reduced payments for the month) food, gas and cat food! We are working with our mortgage company to avoid foreclosure. I have been searching for any type of temporary assistance until she gets on her regular paycheck cycle, to avoid getting farther and farther behind in the basics. We have not set up our swamp cooler as at the moment, there aren’t even funds for cooler pads. This has been a very difficult situation for us, and new as this has not happened to us; it is very difficult and out of our nature to seek such assistance.
If you could provide us any assistance, or refer us to resources that may be able to help with these items, we would be most grateful. I am 65 and my wife is 59.
Sincerely and respectfully submitted,
