Because of my recent heart surgery, the local shelters in the tricounty area do not want to take me because they are worried about liability. The summer temperature here gets up to 104 degrees which makes it TOTAL TORTURE when forced to be in my vehicle o r out in the elements. Unfortunately, due to having to borrow money to be able to stay in a motel, I may be losing my car soon as well.
I am a very responsible, honest, loyal & kind person that would have no problem paying a monthly mortgage or rent (preferably mortgage) that I could afford with my income. I've searched high & low & cannot find a rent that I can afford nor have I found an agency that could/would help me or direct me in finding affordable housing. I've done major research & have come upon information that there are grants available, but they neglect to advise where to go to obtain these grants.
I am writing you to plead for help, guidance, direction &/or assistance in locating affordable housing in Charleston County or even Dorchester or Berkely so I can end my homelessness misery once & for all. I already had mental health problems prior to my homelessness & my situation is severely exasperating & adding to those problems. ANYTHING you could do to assist me in my time of great need would be greatly appreciated.
