Hi,
Of course there are programs for BGE (which we have listed on the site) as well as other programs for rent money, food, clothes and more. Some focus on the disabled and elderly too, which you may qualify for. Look here for financial help in Baltimore MD.

To Whom It May Concern.
I am a 61-year-old disabled man on a fixed income living in Baltimore. I have osteoporosis, a history of End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD), mental illness, and I am visually impaired in one eye. My power was cut off by BGE on 5/17/24. I was referred to local churches and charities by Community Action Council (CAC) for donations to have my power restored. Unfortunately, the total amount that’s owed is about $1,600 for me to have my power restored, but I have raised only $600. I am still $1,000 short of what I need just to turn my power back on.
I tried the Department of Social Services, but they only offer utility assistance to people with children, which I don’t have. They could only refer me to OHEP and EUSP which sent me back to CAC where they already told me I wasn’t eligible and there is nothing else they can do after referring me to multiple resources. I also contacted the Fuel Fund of Maryland, but I need to get a re-estimate because the one-week exportation date has passed. I must refile, but I cannot get through whether I re-apply or try to call. I also stated the matter to the social administrator where I seek my medical care, but there was nothing they could do because I have no medical equipment in the home.
I only depend on SSDI as my sole source of income to live in Baltimore. I have absolutely no idea where else to turn to pay the remainder of this bill and restore my service. I spend as much time out of my home as much as possible every day until it’s time for me to return to my dark and powerless apartment, still without any idea as to how to get my well-needed power. I’m beyond depressed, beyond frustrated, and I don’t know where else to turn. Please help me?!
