Hi,
Thank you so much for your comments. We are far from perfect but our doing our best. Obviously the car programs are not common, and mostly local, but try our main resources for a vehicle here.

But you also said you are homeless? Have you tried a shelter or some other place? As maybe that should be the priority, and here is our
list oh homeless shelters in most communities.

I just wanted to personally thank all who help on this website. We need more sites like this. This is the first time I will be homeless, as I don't got a car, and have no family to help. I genuinely appreciate this site for so many resources for people who need help with housing or a car. Does the government really provide a car to people? I wish there were more people like this. Keep making the world a better place!

Hi,
Obviously car programs are rare, as we said on the website you referenced. The process and details are literally right on that site, so please read it. Also try a
community action agency in VA which may have other transportation programs for you.

Hello, my name is Kimberly, I am on an extremely low fixed income with my disability and social security. My car recently broke and I was finally able to find someone to look at it and found out my transmission needs replaced.
Hi Kim,
The government does not really focus on car repairs - other than the standard programs such as TANF or SSI. Now there are some grant programs you can seek ,that "originate" from the government but are offered by non-profits, and look here for
grant money to repair a car.

I can't repair it and hope I can get help from the government to fix it or give me a new car?
They are working with me giving me low cost but I am about $750 short for this repair. I need my vehicle as I have many doctors’ appointments each month to make it to and if not worth paying the $750 then what government program will give me a car. If you can point me to anyone who would be able to help that would be greatly appreciated.

I am a senior citizen on a low income - disability income and I don't have anyway to get around. I have no car but I am asking you for help or the government for a senior.
Hi Tanya and senior person,
The government rarely helps with transportation, and it depends on where you live. Tarrant County has even few resources. What the government may do is allow some non-profits to apply for grants, and said non-profits use that grant money to help the low-income get a car for work. So the main places are non-profits, but either way look here for details on
free government car programs.

I can't get a loan because of my low credit score this is why I need government help. I keep getting turned down because of it. Please leave me a message or a text message or a voicemail with a name and number. I can call you back.

Hello, my name is Tanya. I'm a mother of five and I have Financial problems at the moment due to vehicle being impounded. I need help from the government to get me a new car or the car back, and does the government provide help with cars?
I also need money to pay the registration or put insurance on vehicle due to lack of pre ownership not paying off parking tickets or registration when vehicle still belong to them. I stay in a shelter and have little money for a car. I need to get what I need for my kids and a car. Now we are walking everywhere and I am scared my kids are going to get sick. Please help with how to apply for help from the government for a vehicle.

Hi. I need your help to get a car from the government. I live in a shelter (homeless) with my family. I have 3 children - one of them disabled. It's a very big problem for me to take them at any place without a car that I can’t afford.
I need a car to take them to school if they left the shelter as the bus does not come here. I worked 2 days and left it because more than 4 hours to go there. It will be good helping to get a car for work and help my family and I hope the government can help me get one.
Hi,
Obviously if you are homeless, and have no job, your chances of getting any car (from the government or any place) is close to zero. As what is your plan to pay for the insurance, maintenance, etc. much less pay for the 3 kids you have. Such as food, medical and all the bills. But since you asked, look here for government car programs including from TANF or other benefits, based on state.

Well, government car programs are not "technically" from the government. But rather some organizations, that are not government agencies, will help people on benefits get a car for their job. So meaning someone on TANF or SNAP or those other cash type programs may get priority for a car (if there is a car available). Look here for the government car programs.

Hi, I found this email online and it said I could email here for information on car programs from the government.
I'm looking for assistance with getting a car, the one I have the repairs cost too much for anyone to help me fix. I'm disabled, and I have a very low income and am on government assistance - SSI, EBT, SNAP, etc.
The problem is I can't drive and my girlfriend is disabled but she can. We live in the State of Ohio, in a little town called West Liberty. We can't get to a grocery store or get to anything without driving a car or having a car.
What can you help us find from the government for transportation? Do they have vouchers or benefits?
Thanks for you time, I appreciate this.
