Wow, that part about realizing how fast life can flip and understanding what other people go through now… that hit hard. A lot of people are one layoff away from being in the same spot, even with a good career history.
The fact you’re still working and trying to protect your rental history says a lot. I’d honestly try your county eviction prevention program first before charities — a lot of areas still have local housing stabilization funds that people don’t know about because they aren’t advertised well. If you have an eviction notice plus proof of current income, that can sometimes move you up the list.
Also, don’t undersell your previous experience. Even if retail is rough right now, junior executive experience is valuable. I’d be hitting LinkedIn hard and looking at recruiter/staffing firms too while you’re trying to get through this month.

I’ve emptied my saving since I lost my job back in September and all this terribly humbling. Currently working making $215 a week which is not what I’m use after being in a junior executive position with a salary role at a retailer. These last months have been very humbling and it has given me a greater understanding of people and myself. When you are making 6 figures it’s Someone across town making $1000 a month. I can’t risk giving up my apartment because it will damage my rent history. What I’ll need once I get things back in order with finding better pay. Therefore, I need help with my rent in the worst way. I can provide separate notices, lease agreement, eviction notice and state id. Please help me or direct me to the organization that can.
